2011 - Manoa Pikula LB/FB

I don't know if anyone's seen Pikula's highlights from his senior year but they're really impressive. This kid hits seriously hard. One of the most explosive and powerful hitters I've seen out of HS. He's a LB/FB from Bingham and is a ball hawker and great blocker. Anyone that knows more about him please share. I have a feeling that this kid could be a big play maker for BYU (he's committed).

Seems like a really good kid too. He says he prefers to play FB and loves to block, but he'll play anywhere BYU wants him to play. I think he'd make the biggest impact at LB and would love to see him there. Thoughts?

He looks good. How realistic would it be to play mainly LB with a little FB mixed in? BYU doesnt need an every down FB anyway.

I know all the Bingham guys coming in next year and of them all, Noah is the most underrated. I expect Bakker, Moses, Noah, and Kesni to all be some of the best defensive players we have ever seen on this team. Don't be surprised if they all get drafted in a few years. They're all really nice kids too. They are huge guys and look tough but if you talk to them they're way nice guys. They're also surprisingly humble.

Should say 2011, no? Maybe if we kept the recruiting info in the football forum with a permalink to the recruiting subforum we'd talk more about football there rather than television deals, video games, tweets and Obama. Just a thought.

There are pluses and minuses to having a separate recruiting forum. For one, it's less viewed because some people only look at the football forum. But for another, it's alot easier to keep all the recruiting info current, and find what you're looking for. If a user were to come in and want to know what happened to Beigel, they could easily find it here, whereas they would probably start a new thread in the football forum to ask, because all that info would be buried several pages back.

I agree with your anaylsis, which is why I suggested maintaining the recruiting forum with permalinks in the football forum. I was just saying if these were in the football forum I might be (a little) less likely to post about paying college football players. Is that worth adding the links?
