this is really a hot bed issue. If THS was no good nobody would care how much the parents or alumni of the school were donating but because they have had a great program for a long time and Provo High has had a crappy program for so so so long it MUST be because of the discrepancy in $ from boosters. People want to force kids to go to school in their boundaries and that's fine, that's how I think it should be; kids shouldn't be able to go wherever they want just because the other school has a better sports program. But you can't complain then about the population of your boundaries and how THS people, on average, have more money to donate to the school. People always want to pick the side of the argument that helps them and eliminate the side that doesn't.
I went to THS and it's a more diverse student body than Northeast Provo where all the money is. I was surprised to find out where some of my friends drove from to come to school, basically springville. There are 40-50 families that have tons of money up there and they are the ones that donate the money. Sorry, PHS or other schools who want to complain but those people obviously didn't want to live in those schools boundaries and shouldn't be restricted in helping the school of their children/grandchildren because other people don't have as much money.
