Best Ever Defensive Coodinator

This week we are doing two polls as there aren't enough weeks in the Summer to do this one at a time. After a couple of days, I'll take your nominations and create a poll thread to open up the voting as well as a more pointed debate, with a CougarCorner winner being crowned each Sunday evening.



Our first coaching slot = the defensive coordinator---who do you think is in the conversation for best ever? Don't be afraid to date yourself either! We'll run polls for both interior (tackles) and outside (ends) linemen, so make sure to specify!

For defensive coordinator, I nominate:

1. Bronco Mendenhall

2. Jimmer Fredette

3. Chuck Norris



The Jimmer and Chuck were the only people I could think of mentioning in the same sentence as Bronco. :D

Are Jimmer and Chuck back from their "vacation" to Pakistan yet?

Fred Whittingham helped set up a solid defensive program while he was the DC. I can't remember who took over after him, thinking it was Roger French.



Overall, I give it to Bronco. He's put together some awesome defenses without the NFL talent that BYU had in the '80s and '90's.

They were never "officially" there, so they never had to "return." Seriously, haven't you seen Jimmer's range? He's got ICBM range. In fact, all new ICBMs are now named Jimmers.
