Timely Piece on Recruiting and Social Media

The DesNews picked up the NY Times piece:

In sum, it's about how craigoscarson has been putting it--yeah, the NCAA has rules against fans contacting recruits to entice them to sign with their school, but to enforce the rules in any meaningful way would be an absurdity.

So to be in compliance with the NCAA I have to give up my rights to speech and assembly. As the NCAA is a government institution (it represents a group of colleges that are mostly government-owned) I'd say fans/colleges would have grounds to sue to have those rules rescinded.
