Anderson Leaving

It is being reported that Anderson will graduate and move on to pursue his professional career. I wih him the best....Does this mean there is one more scholarship out there than what we thought?

Before this, there were two scholarship offers out there and no spots available on the team.

Hopefully this means that whoever is coming in at center next year is good enough that Anderson knows he won't see the floor. Or maybe Rose just showed him the door.

Either way, I wish James Anderson the best of luck in life.

Actually, this probably helps them. A scholarship is now available that may not have to come from them.

You know though. I was surprised to see Martineau got any team award last night (Academic excellence)... Since he never saw the court, he had plenty of time to focus on academics. That and they don't have a "Team Backstabber of the Year" award.

I believe he's referring to Martineau's comments about Jimmer in Reilly's article

"The weird thing is, [his defense] has gotten progressively worse over the year," says Fredette's own teammate, Nick Martineau. "From the start, he's never really been accountable to it, but it's just gotten looser as the year's gone on

That is correct. Martineau should have been standing behind Jimmer as his teammate, not telling Rick Reilly that his defense sucks, and has gotten worse over the course of the year. Not a cool thing for the last guy off the bench to do, especially if he has hopes of ever earning playing time.

Anderson had his moments and if Davies leaves that means our experience at big man is now limited to what Chris Collinsworth did last year before his injury, and a rotating Noah and/or Abouo.

That's pretty sad.

I know he was no rock star, but he's also our most experienced big. I don't see how this is good news.

We're in trouble.

Noah is the only player that we can count on returning. CC, I assume, is doing well recovering from surgery, but whether he'll be healthy is an issue. Who knows what's going to happen to Davies, but I'm willing to bet based off of what happened to Unga that we won't see him next season. Our other two bigs will be fresh off the mission boat.

Add in the fact that we lost Jimmer and Jackson and we're looking at a whole new team next season. Abouo and Noah will be the only two returning starters.

Good call by Anderson, though. Now he doesn't have to endure the constant groans from fans. Kid played his heart out. He'll be missed.

I actually had a soft spot for Anderson. He wasn't the most talented player (sort of like most of us) but he played hard.

Besides what is not to love about a big who comes in blocks a few shots and hacks the crap out of anyone daring to come into the paint. If he was playing 40 minutes he would have averaged 3.1 blocks per game (not bad) and 9.5 fouls per game (not possible).
