We Should Still Be Playing

At the risk of sounding ill-tempered or a poor loser, I can't help but think that, had we caught a break in the Fla game, we would still be in it. I think we would have beaten Butler, then VCU and now we're in the final game with U Conn.



We had a lucky draw in the bracket, and with Virginia Commonwealth suddenly getting a head of steam and rolling Kansas, the situation was perfect for us. Yes, Butler is playing hot and would be tough to beat. But I think had we survived the Gators, Jimmer would have shown up with guns drawn and loaded, and he would have blasted away. I was in Denver and saw how he just punished Gonzaga, and how the team really took up his momentum.



So when I see Butler beat a game VCU team, I'm thrilled for them. But I can't thinking now and again how that could well have been my Cougars that are interrupting family home evening on Monday. :sulk:

I completely agree----I'm still happy with this season, it has been phenomenal. But.....I can't help but feel freshly pained at the success of Butler and reflect on the "could have beens" that color this once-in-a-lifetime tourney. -sigh-

Agreed! more important than JImmer blazing guns, the rest of the team would not have had as bad a night vs florida.

AND your are absolutely right. Brackets dont get any better than the one we were in. Not sure we get past Butler, but 50/50 chance we end up in the Final Four!

I hope BYU puts out an extended DVD of the season. I'm not sure how soon we put one up like this. Lets hope Chapman is right and 2014 is amazing.

We were one basket away from going all the way. I agree, had we beaten FL the next games were very winnable. We match up well against those teams. BYU typically goes one game hot and one game not. FL we were cold. The next game we would have come out hot.

I'm convinced if we had either Davies or CC we would still be in it. I think it was almost "destiny" for us to meet up with UConn and have Jimmer drop 40 on them but alas it was not to be. But I am nearly positive we would be playing for the NC if we had either of the two bigs lost this year.
