What are some of the favorite April fools jokes you've ever seen or done?

I remember once when I was in high school I drew up this whole official looking eviction notice and posted it on a family members door. Then I "ran into" them at the store and ended up going over to their house with them. They saw it and completely freaked out. Big fights broke out and crying. Boy was that one awkward to say, April Fools!

When I was a frosh in HS, my dad mentioned that he was looking at a job in London, and started to ask me how I'd feel about going to an English boarding school. he's never done anything like it before or since. I totally bought it and was actually pretty excited about it.

It's funny. Do parents just know it stresses kids out to move or something and like to pull this card? We woke up one April 1st morning to find a for sale sign in our yard too and we totally freaked. Our parents didn't come home till late that afternoon and felt so bad how upset they made us they took us out for ice cream.

Never tell your four-year old that you are going to Disneyland as an April Fools joke. Trust me on that one.

Yeah, you don't just TELL them, you tell them, then take them to an old burned down building somewhere and say "Oh no, little Johnny, Disneyland burned down!"

One of my colleagues grew up in a pretty poor family. His parents told him and his siblings they were going to Disneyland for a vacation. They drove from Nebraska to Anaheim, parked, walked up to the admission gates, took a picture, and and were hustled back into the car. "We said we were going TO Disneyland, in IN Disneyland" their dad told them. Kids cried all the way back to Nebraska. They look at it now with humor, but it was pretty tramatic for a while.

My BIL is great at April Fools pranks. He took some Cheerios and put in milk about half full. Froze it, then pulled it out in the morning when his daughter wanted breakfast. Put on some new milk, then strawberries. Oh the surprise when she tried to put her spoon in the bowl and hit the frozen milk!
