CrimsonCougMaybe it's just one of those "glass half empty" kind of days, but there are 4 people I had expected to hear a lot more about from the news reports this spring:
1. Joe Dupaix - There have been a half dozen articles on the other new hire, Cahoon, but nothing on Dupaix. Running backs are breaking big gains, so that's a good sign, but I would've expected to see more in the media, especially for a guy with a reputation for being so vocal but is a relative unknown to cougarfandom. I've seen more on K-Pop, for goodness' sake.
2. Zac Stout - Nothing. What gives? Injury? Academics? Honor Code? Crickets.
There was a rumor of a rumor before spring, but Stout wasn't listed by Bronco as being among those who wouldn't be playing s-ball, that I recall.
3. McKay Jacobson - Yes, he's appeared in interviews saying the right things for the Cahoon articles, but the practice summaries seem to be pretty quiet on his statline. I was really hoping that with some new coaching McKay would light it up again like he did his Freshman year.
4. Drew Phillips - Stuffed for a 1 yard run. That's all I've seen. For a guy who Bryan Logan was crowing about last year when Drew was on the scout team, I expected to see more.
Now, in full disclosure, I should say that I've been distracted by the brilliance of the Jimmer over the first 1.5 wks of Spring Practice, and so were the media, so they or I may have missed something. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same thing. Besides those Bronco mentioned in the first practice, is there anyone else who seems quieter than we would've expected?
