Fiesta Bowl Busted.

They may get kicked out of the BCS (Although, I really doubt it). I would love for BYU to make a deal with the BCS' sloppy seconds.

So I finally have some inside information. A friend on the board of Glandale's stadium which hosts the Fiesta Bowl says they are looking (among others) at a squeaky clean BYU grad to replace Junker. We'll see. 11-1 gets BYU into the BCS this year (unless that loss is to a 1-loss UCF, TCU or Hawaii) and I'd love to see them in Glendale.

Oh c'mon, you can't do that!!! You can't stop once you've started, it stings!

Looks like this could be the end of the Fiesta Bowl being a BCS bowl game.



I'm sure Jerry Jones is chomping at the bit with this one. Would/could the Holiday Bowl be the next BCS venue?

It's probably gonna be between the Cotton Bowl and Holiday Bowl as far as current bowl games are concerned, or...they might just make yet ANOTHER new bowl game so we have one more bowl begging the NCAA to let two 6-6 teams be eligible every year.

If it's between Cotton and Holiday it's going to be the Cotton. The new Cowboy Stadium. San Deigo can't compete with that.

No way the Fiesta Bowl loses its BCS status. Please, that assertion is ridiculous. Honestly, if the Board of every other BCS board had a similar report run on costs, equals things come out. So they may all talk a good game, but they are all running scared. I think a challenge to the Rose, Orange and Sugar to get an independent audit done and made public would be awesome.



The Cotton will be the new BCS Bowl, though. Not to replace the Fiesta, the new one. Why? $$$. The market will support it, that's why. Expect it by 2013 or 2014.

I don't know... the Holiday dropped in statue last year. The Pac 10/Big XII took the matchup that used to go to the Holiday Bowl (Pac 10 #2 versus Big XII #3) to the Alamo Bowl and bumped the Holiday Bowl down a notch and a half (Pac 10 #3 versus Big XII #5).

That's true. The Chik-Fil-A Bowl, the Capital One Bowl, and the Alamo Bowl enjoy a higher stature than the Holiday.



But now since the BCS has said that the Fiesta Bowl being kicked out is "premature", I don't see any major changes with respect to which bowls are participating in the BCS.
