Gurney of TBS reported that Bronco Mendenhall told Biegel that he was the #1 guy on the Cougars defensive recruiting board.

Do we have any chance of getting him? Last I heard he was leaning toward the badgers. I've been watching this one closely...he would be an amazing get.

He is leaning towards the Badgers, but I think we're the clear #2, and you never know what could happen.

"Some may think that BYU has the edge right now because my dad and uncle played there and because our family is LDS," he said. "But that's not true. I am actually hot on Wisconsin right now. .... In our religion it is customary that we go on mission, but that's really up to the individual. Right now, I don't plan on going on mission."

Later in this same TBS article (from yesterday referencing his visit on 4/11) he talked about how BYU has always impressed him "as a person" and that they made great strides, as far as football goes, on this visit with their facilities and coaches. We'll see what happens, hopefully it works out.

I'll be pretty surprised if we get him, but there's always hope.

As has been rumored, reports are that Biegel is at BYU camp this week. Supposedly rooming with a kid from Oregon, who has a dad who post on CB. So while chance is a long shot, sounds like a door is till slightly open on this kid.

Biegel was our #1 target this year. All the comments he's made about committing to Wisconsin and backpedaling about his "door to BYU is still open" comments...



Now he's at a BYU camp? If I were the Badgers, I'd be over at this kids house everyday with cookies.

He may also take an official visit to BYU in the Fall the week of the BYU-Utah game. At least per reports.



The depth of this class with LB's is solid, but could be spectacular.

Very interesting if Beigel is in fact at BYU right now. Here's hoping for a change of heart from the young man, and for a royal beatdown of utah if he attends that game.

Utah game would be a great one to attend. Only ggame we have all year that might come close to comparing to game day at Camp Randall. UW has one of the best student sections in the nation, and some great traditions--like "Jump Around". BYU has "Popcorn Popping". Just sayin.
