Item from today in an article from the Assoc Press:

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida’s best defender missed practice Monday, not the ideal situation considering Jimmer Fredette and Brigham Young are up next.

Guard Kenny Boynton sat out practice because of a sprained left ankle. But coach Billy Donovan expects the team’s second-leading scorer to be on the court Thursday night when the second-seeded Gators face the No. 3 seed Cougars in the NCAA tournament in New Orleans.

. . .

The Gators need Boynton at 100 percent, especially since he’ll be guarding the nation’s leading scorer, Fredette, in the Southeast region semifinals.

OK, so this Gator with a bum ankle is guarding Jimmer?

They lying. His ankle ain't sprained. They just want us to think that it is. He'll complain of pain before and during the game, but he will "be tuff" and play lights out "pushing past the pain" and then he'll be hailed a hero, a true man, for this great act of courage. Sports commentators will decree that he was a hero, a man of men, one to be emulated.

It's definitely a set up, Moroni told that to me on Sunday evening when he was asking me how I would deal some some eternal problems. It's a weekly meeting we have.

But it will all come to naught. THE JIMMER is not a man of men, he is a demigod. Boynton will be able to hold THE JIMMER down to 40 points, but that is only because THE JIMMER is a merciful being, and BYU will down Florida in a close game, 98 - 81.

I'll take that.

This is my thought as well. I don't think that he faked the injury in the UCLA game, and he has a history, but I think keeping him out of practice and the reporting about this are a combination of mind games and caution. Boynton will be ready to go at 100%, and in all honesty, we want them at their best so they can't make excuses after the game. ;)

Frankly, I don't care if they're all injured and have all the excuses in the world - as long as the Cougars keep winning!

I also don't care if they admit that they are "sick to their stomach" after losing to us because we aren't that good.

I said this on a different thread, but Jimmer will do one of his cross over threes and break Boynton's ankle

Actually, I think his ankle was sprained, and it might be the type of sprain that requires three or four days to heal. I've had those kinds of sprains when playing hoops and have found that although once warmed up you can run somewhat, sharp cuts (increasing the weight bearing of the ankle) can be difficult. You are slowed and risk exacerbating the injury.

Ouch. Cross overs and ankle injuries apparently don't go well together....

Rumor has it... He's large in stature. Just how large are we talkin'? I'm sure its tough to tell, when he's just "floating" in the air. But a guess-timate will do.
