Sounds Like a Gonzaga Prediction Again...Not!

Florida has big front line players that include 6’10" Chandler Parsons and 6’10" Vernon Macklin. The depth of their front line players will likely give the Cougars problems. Coach Billy Donovan has the luxury of maintaining a size advantage on the court throughout the game with 6’9" Patric Young and 6’10" Erik Murphy coming off the bench.



Prediction: Fredette puts on another great performance but he simply can’t score enough points to offset Florida’s size advantage. Florida advances in the tournament by wearing down BYU in the second half.

Sound exactly like a Gonzaga prediction.

7'0", 25.9 mpg, 12.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.9 bpg

Gonzaga front-line combined: 79.5 mpg, 38.3 ppg, 19.4 rpg, 3.1 bpg



But we are supposed to read doom-and-gloom from Florida's front-line:

6'10" 33.7 mpg, 11.7 ppg, 7.7 rpg, .4 bpg

6'10" 24.3 mpg, 11.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg, .4 bpg

6'10" 11.1 mpg, 4.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg, .5 bpg

6'9" 17.9 mpg, 3.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, .9 bpg

Florida front-line combined: 89.mpg, 31 ppg, 19.3 rpg, 2.2 bpg



So, we're supposed to be intimidated by less-efficient post-players because their two-deep is a bit taller? I just don't get it.....Florida's big fellas play ten more minutes a game, but get seven fewer points, slightly fewer rebounds, and fewer blocks than Gonzaga's big guys.

They didn't last year.
