Spring Game Called Off

Practice will still be open to the public, but no scrimmage.



Objectively, I like the idea--as long as practices are as intense and competitive as reports have them this Spring, might as well maximize that time with another good practice where everyone participates to the max extent instead of a scrimmage where 3/4 of the team is sitting at all times and your prime players sit the most out of protective wisdom.



Subjectively, it blows for the die-hard fans who were planning on a road-trip for the weekend.

Don't worry, the lunch is still on.

While it won't be a scrimmage I imagine BYU will still finish with a full 11-v-11 mini-scrimmage.

Were you planning on coming out? I haven't had the privilege of meeting you yet! I just saw you in the stands on the crappy Mtn. network which, by the way, I will not miss next year. Or any year after that. Nor will I miss that brunette reporter. She drives me nuts.

11 on 11 drills are basically a scrimmage anyway, just with a different format. As long as the 1's go against the 1's for at least a couple of series, I call it good. About all they would play in a scrimmage anyway.

Man, that Bronco guy just can't relate to the fans. What a punk.

After the loss to Florida tonight the lack of a spring game is now more difficult to withstand. I think Bronco should reinstate the spring game just to make us be able to survive until summer ball.

I agree, and they should let Jimmer suit up and run a handful of plays. To help fund scholarships for the English department I bet we could get donors to sponsor Michelle Peralta dressed as Jimmer's personal cheerleader for the event.

Real practice session >>>>>>> spring game. You get to see a lot more action, you can more easily focus on the positions you want to, you still get a lot of team scrimmage and 7-on-7's and all the players participate.

I must say that I am shocked that Bronco does not want to have a spring game for the fans, just shocked! :P
