State of Washington must be hatin on BYU

We are their achilles heel. Their kryptonite.



They despise us from the beginning. Our 84 Championship trophy that sits in our case. Is claimed by Husky fans to this very day.



Then... We go into their house and beat them on their field, while the Most Beloved Loser -- Jake Locker -- throws the ball in the air after a TD and gets called for it.



We go into their back yard and land the #1 QB in the nation. Who plays his first game against his home town and wins. Which is arguable one of the worst BYU teams in history at that moment. Against a head coach, Sarkisian, who wore BYU blue.



Then their last ray of hope. The tiny percentage of Washington natives who don't care for football, but eat, sleep, and breath basketball. Gets totally jimmered!



Too bad we can't be involved with more Washington stuff. We could chalk those up as wins. Can't wait for Zaga next year. But that can wait... We still have a date in the Sweet 16.

They probably don't realize but UW does have one big W against us in 1996-97.



If BYU plays UW later in the season, the Cougs are likely playing for a national championship or at least are in the discussion.

That year was Florida-FSU for the title, I believe. I don't think either team had a loss going in. I doubt we get to the title game, and I doubt we would have gone to any other bowl except for the Cotton Bowl.

Not sure about that.



FSU and ASU finished the regular season undefeated that year. ASU played Ohio State in the Rose because they weren't part of the Bowl Alliance. FSU went to the Sugar Bowl and played a rematch vs. Florida for the title. I would say it would have been likely that an undefeated BYU would have finished with a higher ranking than Florida and thus would have been required to play FSU for the title per Bowl Alliance rules.
