I'm Ready

I feel like when it is near to the end of FB fall camp and I'm tired of all the interviews and all the posturing and experts predicting this, that, and the other thing.



I'm tired of hearing how Wofford "almost" beat Wisconsin LAST YEAR and hearing Wofford players beam on how grateful they are for a matchup with BYU like we were manna from heaven.



Still one more day to wait, but I just want to see our boys on the court and let us either be convinced that losing Davies was the season changing event they all declare that we cannot pull out of or that we got to be a top 10 team because as a whole, we are that good.



A loss to Wofford would be a season demoralizing event. A win says we are as good as the majority of us Cougar faithful all really thoughtthat we were and that most experts are experts at spewing non-sensical, self-serving basura.

Wofford is like the non-TCU, Utah teams BYU plays against in football. It's a team that while may have some dangerous players and pose some matchup problems, it's a team to which BYU/Bronco simply doesn't lose.



I have no worries or concerns about flaming out tomorrow.

What would really be nice would be to see the supporting cast take on most of the work tomorrow, score 85 points with a "mere" 25 or 30 from Jimmer, hold Wofford to 50 or so, and prove that we are truly a team and not just one player. That would silence a lot of nay-sayers (but not all, unfortunately).

Unfortunately, the same people that are chirping the loudest against BYU, saying they'll be the 3-14 upset, will just say after the win, "Well, it was only Wofford..." Can't win with some people, even if you win the game.

I would like to see Jimmer go for 60 instead. And in the next game Gonzo or STjonnie put three on him the then the team shows how it isn't just a one man show and destroys them. That would lead to so much confusion for the rest of the tourney nobody would be sure how to play BYU.

I want Jimmer on the bench. This team is thin. That is our biggest weakness. We lose when jimmer and co get tired.



jimmer needs to ride the bench as much as he can in this first game so he has everything to give in the second round. then he will have rest before the sweet sixteen game.



while we would get some major pub if jimmer went for 60, i would prefer him riding the bench and keeping his legs fresh. i hope thye come out strong and then the backups finish the job.

This will be Jimmer's last test in college. And it is a test of leadership. He can be comfortable being the SCORING HERO or he can find ways to get all his teammates to produce. I know he can't make others actually convert shots, but he's good enough to find ways to get his mates to produce.

If jimmer goes off for 40-50 against wofford, we are in big trouble (just like mwc finals v sdsu).

Kind of agree with you on this. As cool as big Jimmer games are, it's imperative the team gets going.



What do I want? I want Noah, Jackson and Abouo in double figures Thursday. I want KC grabbing 10 boards. I want Jackson getting 4+ steals and I want Jimmer to have 10 assists.



What these guys need most is confidence and a healthy game from everyone tomorrow will do wonders for their confidence. Get them rolling. Get the Zags/St. Johns worrying about how they're going to stop 5-6 guys and get our guys feeling like they're unstoppable.



There was WAY too much standing around by the Fredettes against SDSU. I don't want any Fredettes Thursday. I want BYU Cougars.

If Jimmer has to score 35+ then we are screwed. Somehow we need to get up 10 early and keep it double digits. Rose has tended to give Jimmer a rest against lesser teams when we have leads like that. The last thing we need is an emotional game in the 1st round. Gotta put the puppies down quick and early.

Four bad losses in six years prove the rule with three of them coming last year when the team was in complete metldown.
