Some Rumors Coming True

Thomas Bryson and Collin Keoshian are not currently in school this spring, but may return.



Jadon Wagner will not participate this spring.



Kori Gaines has been suspended for breaking a team rule.



J'ray Galeai has academic issues and may be held out of spring ball.

This is a real shame. Why in the world would those two not be in school?



Wow, our secondary players are dropping like flies. we lost aguirre, sampson (kind of), gaines, maybe jray. sheesh.

This sucks, I had a lot of hope for Bryson. He could be phenomenal at DE. I still think Keoshian would have made a good safety. Other notes from that article state that Chambers wont be allowed to play this year but could in 2012. Mike Hague is being moved to DB, hope he lost a little weight so he can move a little quicker. Another surprise is that Ezekial Ansah has been moved from DE to OLB. I don't get that?? How much easier is OLB to learn than DE?? Without Bryson or Ansah at DE we have NO speed guys at the DE's. So who do we have at DE now??

I imagine if Ansah doesn't really know the position he could come in on third downs as a blitzer. Let him run around and cause chaos.

Maybe the Ansah move means they are not satisfied with the prospect of Jordan Pendleton's recovery, but that is JUST AN IDEA.



Or maybe he will be used to blitz, as Wickchad said, only from the linebacker spot.



The secondary is getting hit hard. Still think we have a lot of solid players there, we should be fine.

Linebacker is a much bigger learning curve than D-end. In the 3-4 that we play, our 4th linebacker plays as an "edge setter" so it's actually not that big of a move for him. I think it does mean that JP isn't coming along very well, or there are KVN issues. I don't like either situation.



As far as who is going to play DE, we always have a lot of big uglies that can take that over. In a 3-4, speed is less important to your DE's than weight is. Your OLBs are the one's that are supposed to be getting to the qb/backfield. Your Dline is basically just trying not to get pushed around, and try to make a tackle here and there.

No he's no DB. Hebron is a 300+ pound nose tackle and a very good one at that

Let's put the rumors to bed as here is a list of the players that will not be participating in spring ball for reasons other than injury with Bronco's explanation as to why -



* Kory Gaines: "Kory Gaines has been removed from the team, short term, for a violation of team rules. We will get him back in the fall. I will allow him back in the fall.



* Thomas Bryson: "Thomas Bryson withdrew from school for personal reasons, private reasons. We would love to have him back in the fall, and I think there's a good chance he will be back in the fall."



* Collin Keoshian: "Collin Keoshian left for personal reasons. My guess is he will end up probably playing closer to home. We would be glad to have him back, if he wants to come back. But for personal reasons [he left], similar to Thomas' situation, things I wouldn't feel comfortable talking about, or having really even investigated. They are just private things with the kids."



* Zac Stout: "A violation of team rules will keep him out the whole first week of spring practice. He will be back the second week, if his knee is feeling good enough to return."



* Jadon Wagner: "My hope is that he will be back with us by the fall, in good standing. Again, it is a combination of a team rules violation, and personal matters. A lot of times, in the winter time, I know it sounds like a lot. But a lot of times that's when these things happen. Rather than making big news about it when it happens, it is easier just to show it now. I expect him back in the fall as well."



* Jordan Atkinson: "Hopefully will be back with us by Monday. Academics is the primary reason with him right now."



* Jray Galea'i: "Jray is working on academics today. He had one miss that required the loss of a spring practice. So if he's current tomorrow, he will be back out tomorrow."



* Drew Phillips: "Drew Phillips is working on his academics today as well. He will be similar to Jray Galea'i. That could be on a day, off three. On two days, off one. He's right on the borderline of where we feel comfortable having him practice with us, at the expense of his grades."

I like the "violation of team rules" bit. We shouldn't hear "honor code issue" EVER again.

Exactly! I was worried Heaps was in trouble, along with Apo gone. Then of course... KVN doing something horrible to shatter my hopes.



I had my handgun loaded with a single round. Waiting to take the safety off. The only thing I was missing was a bottle of Jack Dan's. Alright... The bottle of wiskey is too much. Wouldn't want to break the Word of Wisdom ;)
