I was wondering the same thing about the ref thing... along with the possibility of playing St. Johns those are 2 things that I extremely dislike about all of this.

OK, I buy into the MTN officiating conspiracy against Jimmer. If the Cougs get past Wofford, will their next game be in Denver also? Can they request that Mike Reed (I think that is his name) not officiate as he lives in fear of the Jimmer loosing control. :angry:

Both games in Denver. The MWC wants BYU to win and paid their money pockets the more games we play in.

If they are MWC refs look for them to take the attitude as trying to "gain respect" by calling the game "fair" and being "objective" and not favoring the MWC team, and it just so happens to be a team they wouldn't mind kicking on the way out.

I'm pretty sure they use all different refs for the tourney. We might get a mwc here and there, but there will be a lot of other refs there too. If I'm not mistaken.

I thought this was the case too, until urroner got me thinking... so I hope you're right.

If they try not to pair conference opponents before the Sweet 16, I bet they try not to pair teams with their conference officials.

I don't think we could have received a better seed and slot.

In most cases they probably think putting a team with their own conference refs would give that team an advantage as the refs may call in their favor. But in our case it's exactly the opposite!

This is the official assignment rules. Neutrality is a major factor, and officials are assigned to teams as individuals, not existing teams.

It says in that link that officials are prohibited from making innapropriate or unprofessional comments about players, teams, or coaches. Does that include things like saying "OMG He's going off again" about Jimmer when leaving the court at half-time?



Does the info in this link preclude that Reed guy from officiating.
