How the heck did Florida jump to a #2? I didn't see them projected that high these last few weeks at all.



The two teams I was hoping not match up in the 2nd round was KSU and St. Johns. Dang, we got St. Johns.

I think the reason is because UCLA is a 7th seed. Rather than move them, they moved BYU and moved up FL.

Well, you need to beat the St. Johns in this world, so at least we have them in mile-high Denver. They have to be thrilled about that. If we can get Noah and Jackson to come out of their offensive slumps, which I don't know how to do, we'll be fine. I don't know what jump startst the two of them.

Yea, how terrible of a team to have made it to the NCAA. I don't know what people were thinking of letting a team that lost 11 games in. I don't know, could it be that they beat: Notre Dame, WVU, Georgetown, Duke, Connecticut, Cincinnati, Marquette, Pitt and Villanova. I do think that does include two wins over #1 seeds.

St. Johns just lost their best big man in the big east tourney to a knee injury. He was their third leading scorer and leading rebounder. I think we match up very well with them.

Points per game 132nd

Rebounds - 281st

Assists - 174th

FG% - 77th



yet they have beaten all those teams PUMA mentioned. That is going to be a very tough 2nd round game.

They are an RPI +100 team. BYU hasn't lost to a team with that high of an RPI. They lost to AFA as well.

I don't care what anyone says just as long as they don't try to mock a team like St. John's...it just makes you look entirely ignorant. We go through this every year where we "should" beat this team because they're not great or consistent or whatever but then that team plays up against us. Obviously they are capable of beating anyone and have beaten more top teams than ANYONE in the country.



Add the fact that they will be looking across at 4 or 5 small white guys defending them; you don't think they get a little "up" when they see that? There's a very good chance they go K St. or A&M on us and hit everything they launch. Let's not disrespect their resume.

I'd rather play St. Johns than Gonzaga. We have no answer for Sacre now.

I saw St Johns play UCLA and gave them a very good game on the road. They are a good veteran team that can put pressure on you. No gimme.

I feel like we can beat St. Johns, but opposite of you, they actually scare me similarly like playing NM and SDSU scare me even though we have won games vs them.

I know we're fans and we can project all we want, but we've got a game against Wofford and we're busy talking more about St. Johns. :skeptic:



Wofford's best player is 6'6" senior Noah Dahlman. He averages 20 ppg, shoots 61% from the field and averages 5.5 boards a game. No slouch. He hasn't taken a three pointer all season, so clearly is a much more around the basket type player. We struggle with those kind of players. Abouo should stick to him like glue.



Next is their senior guard Cameron Rundles. He averages 14 ppg, 2.5 assists and 2.8 boards. He shoots 43% from the field and 41% from behind the arc. Decent player. Jackson ought to stuff him.



After Cameron is senior guard Jamar Diggs. He averages 12.5 pts a game and 3.2 assists while shooting 43% from the field and 36% from the arc. He didn't play his freshman or sophomore years for some reason.



Leading rebounder is 6'6" senior forward Tim Johnson. He averages 8 boards a game and 6 points. Not a great shooter and not a go to guy, but looks to be a decent rebounder.



I think we match up against these guys pretty well. Abouo on Dahlman and Jackson on Cameron. Their two tallest player (6'8" and 6'7") don't look to play at all.



They're a senior laden team. We'll get their best effort as they'll want to leave it all on the court. AFA did beat them, but it was in OT. We should be able to handle them no problem but come March I don't look over anyone.

Have to agree with Gunk on this one...forget the St. John's or Gonzaga or Florida talk. Has to be a "W" over Wofford before anything else can happen. These guys look to be pretty competitive. Yes they lost to Air Force in O.T., but they also beat George Mason, and played competitively against the likes of Xavier, Minnesota, and Georgetown and are currently riding an 8 game win streak. Love the #3 seed, the fact that we are in Denver, and potential match-ups down the road. First things first however, time to open up a can of "Whoop Wofford" GO COUGARS!

Hey... This is the BIG Dance guys. You're not going to get a pass to Sweet 16, Elite 8, or Final 4. It's all about winning against the team you're assigned to play. And each advance is supposed to get harder. If you're a championship calibur team, you got to beat some good teams. The fact that they are in the big dance means they, too, have won some games either in the season or in the conference tourneys. Not having a big man that can play both Offense and Defense (Brandon Davies) will definitely hurt. I think that sans Davies contributes to both Hartsock's and Emery's struggles. Hartsock because he now has to play the paint a lot more and be physical against bigger guys. He used to like to stay away from the physical play and hit the long shot. I definitely wears on him more and takes it toll physically. Emery could bigger "gambles" defensively with Brandon Davies to plug the middle a little bit. Not that we depend on smaller guys in the middle, Jackson has to pick and choose his "gambles" a little bit more carefully. I recall John Stockton making the comment that after Mark Eaton retired, it made steals more difficult, reasoning that he could take chances at some steals knowing that if it failed, Big Mark would plug the middle. Although BD is not a dominant defensive force like Mark Eaton was, he certainly was a second line of defense if the guard play let someone in. I do like Abouo's competitive nature (fighting for rebounds and points underneath), but he's at a disadvantage in that he is not 6'10" - 7'0". But the guy gives his all on BOTH ends of the floor. Quit worrying about the matchups, let the coaches develop a game plan, and somehow find Jimmer some rest time. I like the scapiness of Magnusson (even if his role is simply to play physical by letting the opponent know he's protecting the paint)....
