College Football Sunday????

Just heard that ESPN has been quietly contacting college ADs to get a temperature reading on willingness to shuffle some games to Sundays this Fall in the event of the NFL drama cutting into the NFL season and ESPN's coffers.



Could open up the the door to an extra BYU game or two on ESPN on Saturday if they shuffle a TV game from Sat to Sun.

The Sunday games have been mentioned a bit on a couple Sports Radio shows. I guess it comes down to the lockout ruling next month.

I asked my buddies about that when we heard about the decertification. We all agreed that ESPN/CBS/FSN and whoever else has rights (except BYUtv, of course) would be foolish not to try and move some games to Sunday if there were no NFL.



I fully expect to see College Football Sunday (and perhaps 2 GameDay sets?) if the NFL doesn't have a season.



The only risk is to schedule NCAA games for Sunday, then have the NFL and NFLPA come to a rapid agreement in August when some players start missing their checks really badly. Then having to adjust the schedule again. However, unless the NFLPA totally caves, I think the owners will string it out to prove they can.

Could help BYU in some recruits minds by knowing they'll never have to play on Sunday. Not trying to open a debate about Sunday play like the Caffiene debate but it really may make a difference to some collegiate recruits.
