New Mexico banged up

Word is New Mexico is pretty beat up: Snell (ankle - didn't play yesterday), Gordon (broken nose), Gary (ankle - saw him limping the rest of the game after injuring it).

could it be that because BYU is doing whats right, on and off the court, that miracles are happening on their behalf? Nope, it's a mormon school so that's offensive

Big game tonight. BYU needs to show they can beat a more skilled and athletic opponent without Davies, and tonight is the night to do so. Because if we can not get past UNM, I expect us to flame out of the NCAA tourney in the 2nd Round.

Exactly. are they really "more skilled and athletic" than we are though? DAvies is a big loss but emery, fredette, abuou..etc are pretty skilled and athletic. anderson, manguson, not so much.

By more skilled, I just meant more skilled than TCU and Wyoming, who we beat. Need a win against a quality team without Davies. We are 2-1 without him, but the 1 loss was horrific, and only game against a decent team of the 3.

The loss also occurred right after he was booted off the team and something like that can really mess up a team mentally for a short while.

While I do agree with that being a huge factor, I am also troubled by the fact that in 120 minutes of hoops since that occurred, BYU has played at it season level for 15 of them, and that was all mainly the 2nd half of the Wyoming game. Basically, the new standard of play seems much lower. Until proven otherwise.
