Happy Dump the mtn. Day!!!

Tonight when you cancel your sports pack or switch providers make sure your current (or soon-to-be-former) provider knows why you're making the switch. I suggest terms like "Mickey Mouse" and "unwatchable" when describing the mtn. Let them know you're leaving for BYU sports and because the MWC is worthless now. Also, don't forget to ask your provider for byutv in HD.

Just one thing, if you want to watch the the BYU Women's team play Utah in the women's semifinals Friday at 1 pm, you'll want to wait one more day before dumping the mtn.

So what is the best option now for Cable/Satellite. I have been with DirecTV for 5 years now and have liked them, but now that I don't need the MTN, what is the best option.

I may be the only person on the board that likes cable more. Over the last 5 years I have been a consumer of both satellite companies and two different cable companies at different times. If I were to rank them I would put the cable companies higher in everything except for price. If you want to keep satellite, DirecTV is superior to Dish in EVERY WAY except for price again.



If you want basic service, and only basic service, the satellites are cheaper. Outside of basic service, it seems that the price difference between cable and satellite becomes less significant.

I've had every option, and I prefer DirecTV because the picture quality is vastly superior to Dish or Comcast. The whole house DVR system is pretty awesome, and they give you tons of credits and discounts if you simply call in and ask for them. They are a bit more expensive, though.

But what will you do when BYU plays a WAC v2.0, er, I mean, a MWC team on the road? Those games will be on the Mtn, no? I guess it's usually possible to upgrade just during the football season.

You can upgrade for a day if you'd like with directv. It's usually the most cost effective to upgrade for a month at a time to avoid a small fee for up/downgrading.

I didn't know that about DirecTV. How much does that cost?

Hawaii in 2013 at Hawaii. Also at Boise St in 2014. For instance.

I would not keep the Mtn just for one game. I will go to the bowling alley to see it.

This is assuming the MTN will even exist in 2013.

So, DirecTV lady asked me if there was a problem with my SportsPack service. I told her no, but that I only got the SportPack to watch BYU Football and Basketball. Since they will be on ESPN, I no longer needed the MTN. Just trying to do my part. :whistle:
