We need a better inside presence next year.

I think Rose should boot Zylstra off of scholarship (and probably either Martineu or Winder) and go get some JC transfer bigs on scholarship.



Who even knows if CC will be healthy for next year? I hope so, but who knows? With Rogers being a 3 man, that leaves us Noah down low, and ... just Noah.



I know that we have some bigs coming off missions, but I don't think they will be up to speed by the time this season rolls around. Unfortunately, the WCC is the perfect time to integrate new cogs into the wheel, and we will have ample time to get them into the flow.



He needs to do this with or without BD being eligible for next year, but even more so if he isn't eligible for next year and is "redshirting". (Offhand question, if we rs him because he is suspended from school, his schollie becomes available, right? So we would have that to use for someone else for a year and then give it back to him if/when he comes back? Does that sound right?)

Why are you calling for Winder's head?? Dude hasn't even gotten a chance to prove himself!!! I believe he's going to be better than you think. Great JC BIGS are hard to find and even harder to get to come to BYU. We're stuck with the Magnusson's of the world. Too small to really play forward and not athletic enough to play wing. I'm fine with Zylstra being let go but we'll probably need Martineau until at least Dec. 15.

O sure that will look good boot winder( another black guy) off of this team... Just kidding but Winder might turn out to be descent, Zylstra probably won't and I don't have much hope for Martineau either... But that's just me. Although byu doesn't typically boot guys from scholarships just because they don't cut it. So I doubt much will happen

Yeah.........after the athletic department kicks a guy off of the team on the basis of "commitment" and keeping your word, they are going to turn around in the off-season and kick another guy off to look for a quick fix?



Don't hold your breath for BYU to fail to renew any scholarships.

JC bigs aren't that hard to come by...



Anderson is not starting material for UVU, much less a top 10 team. Are we really going to banish ourselves to a frountcourt with him playing major minutes?



Ccoll will hopefully be healthy, but may not be. And wasn't really a "presence" in the middle in the first place.



Next year we will have 6'10 anderson, 6'9 Ccoll, 6'8 Hartsock. Then 6'8 rodgers. That is it, unless one of the rm's gets up to game speed. my guess is that they won't.

We have two bigs returning from missions. One of them will have to step up and be ready to play. Maybe Rose can talk Neilsen in postponing his mission for a year.



Oh, and a scholarship did open up with Brandon sitting out a year, so there isn't the need to boot someone off the team to make room.

We also have 6'10" Isaac Nielson coming in as a freshman. I do like the idea of finding someone (does not have to be a center but athletic) in the JC ranks to join the team. After what we did this season they would have to think they would have a chance to further their career here.

Nielsen is a sign and go. We won't see him for 3 years. That is who I was referring to earlier.

I'm pretty sure that most big men who can even remotely play don't end up in JC. Honestly, the only big man JC transfer that I can think of that helped any team was Rafael Araujo, and that was 8 years ago. And he only went to JC because he couldn't speak English when he came to the US.

Next year a lot depends on the health of CC. We may need Harward to be ready to play right off the mission and he will likely be better than Anderson out of the gate. Everybody knows Anderson will still be basically useless next year as well. We also REALLY need Rogers to gain some weight before next season somehow. A 6'8 to 6'9 front line wouldn't be that bad with a healthy CC, Hartsock, and BIGGER Rogers. I still believe CC would make a better 5 than Hartsock and Noah seems more comfortable playing the 4 anyways.
