Fox's Jeff Goodman is pimping Duke's 6' 2" senior guard Nolan Smith as POY.

Jimmer is 1st team, but I think his deciding factor was that, "Smith can score, distribute the ball, rebounds well for his position, is a quality leader and also defends."

I hope this isn't early lobbying to turn some head in some last of the season campaigning.

Of course he wants to turn the tide. BUt I think/hope its too little too late.

And who knows, maybe even the Davies events sheds some "anti-turn-the-tide- sentiment as voters here this spew of late season entry into POY discusssion. I mean I'd rather have Jimmer win it absolutely on his merits and stats and play and face-recognition, but Smith hasnt been in the discussion for POY. And with a few losses recently or just one, he's not doing anything so spectacular to turn the tide much.

Jimmer has all the stats and huge "feel good" support. Travesty if he doesnt get it. Sullinger might resurge by the anti-little-guy voters. Smith, not so much.

Oh brother, Nolan Smith has a good what, third of a season and since it happens to be the last third he gets the attention (the first third it was Kemba Walker, the second third was Sullinger). POY is not for the most versatile players, its for the best player, and its not like Jimmer doesn't play any D, he gets his steals and gets plenty of hands in faces, he's just not an all world defender, yet.

The mwc is lobbying "quietly" and most mwc schools are funding a back door campaign for anyone but Jimmer.

Jimmer's got it though.
