Okay, who had testimonies that they know "byu is true" yesterday..... I know I did. It was funny to because the two counselors in the bishopric are huge utah fans. the look on their face was great.

Any good stories?

BYU and the BD incident came up in all three blocks for me. Sermon on the mount, packer's mercy versus justice talk, and testimony meeting.

Here in Titusville, FLorida, some dude teaching my fifteen y/o son in Sunday School said that it was THE JIMMER who had been booted and that they had lost three or four games because of that. When my son tried correcting the mistakes that it wasn't THE JIMMER and that we had only lost one game, the teacher gave my boy the look of "How dare you attempt to correct me when I'm right and you are only a fifteen y/o piece of wasted teenage human flesh."

We both laughed at that on the way home from church.

They let you in the church? So do you hide in the steeple or something? Just kidding with you. Glad to hear you are not like the Zoramites (Alma 32).

They let me in church, but I have to sit way in the back, behind closed dividers, in the dark, with a paper sack over my head. The deacons aren't even allowed to enter the room. They just slide the sacrament to me with a long, long pole, longer than a 10' pole. Even my own son who's a deacon does that. Harsh, but necessary.

We did have a woman get up and include the BD incident in her testimony; however, it was a good missionary experience for her. Some coworker saw the incident, approached her about it and wanted to know more about the church.

So, BD breaking the HC and getting suspended from the team has done more for missionary work in my ward than Jimmer potentially winning POY. I guess Michelle Peralta was right. Jimmer isn't the demigod I thought he was. Davies is.

My bishop mentioned the BD incident in his testimony yesterday. He talked of all the press ie. interviews with Danny Ainge etc.

I had my boss ask me about the incident this morning, and we had a good discussion. It even led to talking about the fact that Danny Ainge is a Bishop, and the whold "lay clergy" idea. It straightened some things out in his mind.

I have had a couple of old associates and friends from my time in Ohio ask about these things as well. It's been a definite conversation starter.

The Lord was never one to shy away from controversy, or from letting Satan rant. Even "The Godmakers" and Sonya Johnson brought many people into the church, because they got people asking questions.

Closest we got was the Bishop talking about the King James Bible project he's working on and my wife looking at me and saying "Don't say 'King Jimmer!'"

I thought they had the rameumptom just for special occasions like when urroner is asked to speak during Sacrament Meeting, so he's farther away from the congregation and can't be seen as well... :D

Actually, they have rigged up a system where I give a talk in the local Southern Baptist church down the street and the audio is pumped into the wardhouse. This way, the Baptists think the Second Coming is real soon since they believe they have seen The Beast and the ward members don't have to see me and if they get bored, the bishop just tunes down the volume.

That's why they put it in the cultural hall and left the pews facing forward. :D

Funny, that's what my ex wives also said. I have never understood what they meant by that.

I heard that it used to be if ward members got bored, the bishop would pipe through a few seconds of video feed to regain the focus of the ward members, but discontinued it when people passed out from shock.
