BYU Studentbody Section Does A Dance

I think it was during one of the tv timeouts in the 2nd half.

Sounds fun. I wish everyone would stop calling it a "flash mob."



Practicing something in the place you are going to do it, before you are going to do it eliminates the surprise. Hence the nullification of the "flash" part.



(Reminds me of the Arrested Development where Nana sets up her own surprise party).

They practiced before the UNM game as well. There were "secret" emails being distributed that you could go to a website, enter a password and see the moves.



Hardly, entirely spontaneous, but pretty cool nonetheless.

It's still a flash mob dance in my eyes. Can't tell me all those impromptu dance video on YouTube weren't practiced before hand. It's a flash mob dance to those that don't know it's coming.

Did the HC Office review the lyrics of this song?

I was not expecting much, but that was pretty impressive. Better than the videos I have seen from other schools.

Agreed. Way cooler in person. Even all the old blue hairs we're surrounded by were impressed and were dancing too. If only we could get some coordinated chants or something for football/basketball we'd have a much better gameday environment.

Well no duh they're practiced. People aren't going to do a 2 minute choreography without practicing it.



The point is, it's not practiced in the same place it is done (for anyone to see before the "reveal").



You can still call it a flash mob if you want. You can choose to be wrong anytime you like, noone is holding you back. ;)

I went to the BYU/FSU game last year in Tallahassee and it was awesome to see what the studentbody section did. Even the blue/gray hairs got involved. BYU fans need to step it up. I loved it back in the late 70s when I would go to a "sacrament meeting" in the MC and a game would break out. People, get off you butts and unfold those arms. When I was in the BYU Incomparable Marching Band, I left almost every game with no voice from yelling and, hold it....hold it...hold it....being really obnoxious. The players loved the bass/brass section. The Ainge even gave us a thumbs up once and we even became worse after that. The director just hung his head and gave up trying to civilize us.
