UNC over Duke!

The score was 81-67. I know that UNC is a better team than New Mexico, but at least it gives me some hope that we don't fall too far. I hope that the poll voters give the Cougars the benefit of the doubt, realizing the emotional and mental effects of a week that included a "top of the world" win over SDSU at their house on CBS and of course the "lowest of the lows" with the loss of Davies the day before the UNM game.

I also like that this loss keeps Nolan Smith from gaining any ground on Jimmer in the NPOY race. He had similar stats to Jimmer's in the UNM game, but he would have got more of a bump from carrying his team to a win and a conference championship. His stock has been rising, and he seems to be a recent darling, especially on ESPN where Duke alumnus Jay Bilas is a Gameday commentator.

If anything good is to come of this season, it's Jimmer's POY award and his patented "Jimmer Range" icon espn shows on screen for any sport and at any level. I love seeing that.

With Duke and Purdue both losing, BYU is right back in the chase for a 1-Seed if we win the MWC Tourny. At least that's what I heard some national radios guys discussing this evening.

Top Seed Order as of right now:

1. Ohio State

2. Kansas

3. Pitt

4. Notre Dame?

5. BYU?

6. SDSU?

7. Duke?

8. Purdue?

9. Texas?

10. Wisconsin?

11. North Carolina?

12. Florida or Syracuse?

Out of the conversation? Hmmm. I think winning the MWC Tournament would silence the critics. That will be tough though.

Also, on College Basketball Final Gottlieb was saying how Texas has a chance at a 1 - seed still and that it's between them and Notre Dame!!!! - What about Purdue or Duke??? He's a TOOL!!!!!
