I Know it's Wyoming, but

Do some of you still think BYU can't win without Davies?



Wyo. played really well, yet BYU scored a hundred and won going away. I look for them to do very well going forward.

BYU is only going to get better in the next week as they practice and get used to the new line-ups and rotations. I'm still not convinced we win the Tourney next week, but anything less than the finals will be disappointing.

This was certainly soemthing they can build upon.

Yes, some very good building blocks were established today.

Move cuts, more guys going to the hoop, more drive and pop to a 3 shooter or cutter, just better all the way around. WEdnesday was stand around and watch day, but today guys came to play, the interior passing was great, and the rebounding effort was loads better. Second half effort by Collinsworth and Abuou going to the hole was awesome.

I was impressed with our young guys on the boards, especially on the offensive end. Remember that we've had good teams and made the tourney for the last three years with Jimmer and Jackson as our playmakers. We won't be AS good as we were with Davies, but we'll get some good wins and we'll be alright.

We needed some games to figure ourselves out again. It'll be good to play Wyoming twice in a row. =)

Defense was better, shots were falling, and Jimmer got to the line a few times.

Emery's back to back 3s to close it out where awesome.



Can I just say how much i LOVED watching Rose take out Emery and Jimmer at the same time? Very classy, epic, tear-jerking moment. Made me sad to think this was their last time. May be a while before we see an epic duo like them in our building again.

Definitely a game to build off of. We really needed a wyoming. A team tied for the worst in the mwc. And to have them again thursday or tcu, will be great. But watch out friday or any team with bigs. And while this isn't a surprise, we are woeful inside offensively.

I hope that both BYU and New Mexico win their respective first-round conference tournament games and meet in the semi-finals. Revenge would be nice, but winning the rematch would help put my mind at rest that BYU can adjust mentally and tactically and be okay going into the NCAAs.

Great win tonight, and great season. But we won't win UNM or CSU in the tourney if they do what they are supposed to do.

Was thinking the same thing. We could hammer out a win against CSU, but I think we'd have a tough time with UNM.



Loved today's win. Loved Abouo's play and KC grabbing boards. We're going to need those guys to have big games here on out.

Plus, BYU gets to play wYoming again next week, so it's double positive.

If BYU had hit their normal % on their 3-pointers, they would have won Wednesday if I did the math correctly. If NM shot their normal % we would have killed them.



It is all going to boil down to shooting for us. If you make the shots you don't need to fight for the rebound - which helps mitigate our rebounding deficiency.



I worry about NM or CSU - but we have a decent shot if our shooting is decent.

Yes, but what it comes down to is "contested" 3 pointers. Do you think us shooting such a high percentage against SDSU was luck? Nope. When you triple team someone, someone is going to be wide open, and better hit that shot at a 70 percent clip unguarded, or he shouldn't be taking it.



UNM had an inside outside game going. They'd pitxh inside, and after we collapsed they'd kick out for 3. They were getting wide open looks. As wide open as we were against SDSU. We, on the other hand, had 5 guys standing around jacking up 3's. NO INSIDE game at all! No 2 point shots other than layups. It is very, very easy to defend against5 guys that stand there and chuck 3's up, so almost every shot we were taking was contested.



So they did what they had to do to get off good looks, and we didn't. So the disparity and gains in percentages weren't unlucky or lucky. They just took care of business, and we looked like a ward basketball team.

I agree. last game was not a fair indication of how BYU can play against UNM. Win or lose, they will be a much better team, and I think they will do what it takes. I think they will do better against UNM than against CSU.

I don't like playing against Ogide, even though we beat CSU twice this year. I will take my chances with UNM again.

They will be very motivated against UNM.
