Look for Davies on the bench today

Brandon is REALLY struggling with everything right now. Rose & Cecil are trying to get him to sit on the bench so he can see the love and support of his coaches, teammates, university and fans. I for one hope he chooses to accept their offer.

Another reason why I think it is time to let this go by the wayside and move on. Brandon and others can't if it is still being talked about.

Pretty risky move. Not sure all fans are ready to move on. Do we want to cheer for him? Applaud his indiscretion? Cheer him in his pain?

Sorry, guys, this smacks of more parading the little black boy from Provo.

I think it would be in poor taste and insensitive to his suffering.

I would clap for him as a nice gesture and in show of support;AND most fans will over time.

Sorry, but if he doesn't want to sit on bench, its more PR bungling to ask him when he's not ready. What is their motive, to keep Brandon around byu? Now there's secondary motive less than admirable.

Besides, hate to say it, but this is Jimmer and Jackson's day. The focus has already been taken off the season of success and the best Sr's we have had in some time. Can we not just focus on that and them?

Let the kid start to heal and recover. Most all will get behind him and support him! Letters will pour in and hugs will abound.

What is to say that sitting on the bench would not be a good step towards recovering and healing?

Thanks for sharing that.

That is way cool and makes me proud to be associated with that.

Brandon wasn't anywhere to be seen during the pre-game.

Student section started chanting "we want Braondon", then he came out very inconspicuously. Great to see .

I know there is still an investigation going on. However, I gotta think that if all the rumors flying around were true, Rose, Holmoe, etc. would not have him on the bench.

I think it is appropriate to have him there on the bench. He did after all contribute to the conference championship that we just won.

He will be able to sit in Sacrament meeting as well - just won't be able to partake of the Sacrament. Relax. It is all OK. I am sure they left it up to him.

Was glad to see BD on the bench today. I think it was a huge step, and it bodes well for him sticking it out and remaining at BYU after all is said and done. I am sure he is in a world of hurt right now, so glad to see the BYU family rally around him, in spite of what may have occurred. Big step for him in getting past it all is getting out in public. Glad to hear the great response he got. A 19 year old kid deserves as much.

Getting hte love he needs right now too. This will make it way easier for him to get around town, around the campus. Still be tough, but he needed this, BYU needed it, and chances are much better he weathers this and is back to play for the Y. Hope he does the same in Vegas. Would be an emotional lift.

100% love this move. And Why not?

I loved that Davies was on the bench and standing up and cheering for his team. Davies was every bit deserving of the opportunity to cut the net. Good for Davies. Good for BYU. Good for everybody.



Also, Dick Harmon is saying that he's heard rumblings that Samuelson took a day off and spent it with Davies. He didn't confirm that, just rumblings.

Risk vs reward. It seems to have worked. Credit Pres S and Coach and the fans and team.

Wow!!! I mean - WOW!! I don't think you are "TIC" in this post. I've had a family member, a brother get in trouble and ex-communicated. You have no idea what you are talking about. The pain, the embarrassment, the humiliation, the personal struggling!! Your comments are beyond insensitive & harsh. They show a genuine lack of understanding and empathy for a brother that has made a mistake - has owned up - is suffering the consequences for his actions. It is out responsibility - actually - our duty & obligation to extend the hand of friendship & love Brandon. I speak from personal knowledge. This is a big deal to love and support this young man during this time.
