Heaps throws 10 TD passes

Dick Harmon is reporting that Heaps threw for 10 TD passes in todays 7 on 7 drills and that Ross Apo was a large part of the offense.

Now THAT'S the kind of news/posts I like to see! Can't wait for Football - this bball season WAS pretty fun...but at best bball is nothing but a pleasant distraction, helping to fill those lonely hours between January and August. Fball always has been, and always will be, #1.



And my favorite holiday is Labor Day. Any guesses why?

I prefer docksiders to thongs with my white pants. Thongs can kick up dirt and grime too easily when they flip up on my heels! ;)

Heaps should throw for 10 TDs in 7on7s. He's being doing that drill since he was 11. He better be good at it.

I hope that is more a look of How great our offense is, and the qb and wr's clicking, then it is an indictment of our passing D, and db situation.



I think it is more the latter, than the former, unfortunately.

I've been among the chief posters in diluting praise for Heaps in 7-on-7 drills, but 10 touchdowns in a day in any drills is impressive no matter how you slice it.

Yeah, hopefully this is an indication that the offense is going to pick up where it left off - averaging 42 pts a game.

Yeah, hopefully this is an indication that the offense is going to pick up where it left off - averaging 42 pts a game.


Do you remember last year when the "D" kept shutting our offense down, and we were all hoping that it meant that the D was so awesome that they were just containing our AMAZING offense?



It's pretty funny, looking back. You never could've told me that our D was sucktacular, but it was still better than our anemic, sorry excuse - not prepared, qb2 mess. I didn't quite have the goggles far slid enough down my nose I am afraid...

Eh, just shows our secondary might still be adjusting to some key losses. Plus, Eason is out, so not going against the best talent, nor is it refined just yet. 11 on 11 is always a better indicator overall because it includes a pass rush, blitzes, a pocket, etc.



However, if I am to read anything into it, it is that Jake is ready to go and the job is his right off that bat. That alone makes spring ball better.

No kidding. We all know its Jake's job right now. The question now is, as it should be, who is number two? It seems like a good idea for the coaches to pick a number two and start giving him a good number of reps.

He had extra high levels of "awesomeness" and "bad to the bone-ness" so he had to get some removed before he exploded into a being of pure light.
