Davies Turned Himself In

According to Andy Katz Davies turned himself in:

And according to a source, Davies admitted to making the mistake but knew that as hard as it is for the program, he had to live up to the consequences of breaking the code.

I for one am proud of Davies for taking it like a man.



It doesn't appear that the Honor Code office sent out their minions to try and catch an athlete in violation but rather a man of honor turned himself in upon violating a code that he signed his name to.

If this is true, good for him for putting his morals and honor before wins. And good for BYU for doing the same.

That also bodes well for him with the HC office.

It takes a true man to face up to the consequences of his actions and do it face forward.

It does sound like he knew he done wrong and has a difficult road ahead, but he's taken the first few steps and I am sure he'll have the support of his friends and family and already has the support of his teammates. I hope this leads to his return to the team and finishing up what could be a fine career at BYU.

THe title of this thread is a little liberal in interpretaton of the quote in the article. It does not say he turned himself in, although it does not clearly state tha the di dnot. It seems to imply that when confronted about an accusatoin, he confessed it. that is the right thing for him to do at that point, but different than the title implies.

Good call Bib. That was my interpretation as well. And yes, good for him if he owned up to it. Probably more to the story yet to come out.

I disagree. I think that quote implies that he turned himself in. But you're entitled to your interpretation.

I disagree. I think that quote implies that he turned himself in. But you're entitled to your interpretation.

The quote only implies that he "admitted to the mistake". One can admit to a mistake after already being caught. If you admit to the mistake after someone confronts you on an allegation that is not turning yourself in...it is however admitting, that yes, a mistake was made. I agree with bib on this assessment and think the title of "Davies turned himself in" is misleading...for now...their is still not enough info to say when or how he admitted to a mistake.

Interpretation aside. Davies deserves the fans support. He has done a lot for the program. Yes he made a msitake, but he is a 19 year old college student. I can understand that. I hope he knows that many fans have his back. I sure do.

Agreed. Whether he brought it up or others came to him. It is time to come clean, get things straighten out in life and become a better person for it. My best for him and his loved ones as sometimes the road can be tough. He has my support.

I'm with you guys. My wife says that he told Rose Monday night, and Rose told him that it would have to run it's course. He is a good man, and deserves our support.

Those of you that are telling lies...if you attend BYU you better turn yourself in! If you don't and are a member you better be willing to meet with your Bishop about your dishonestly cause this stuff is outta hand!

At the Cougar Club luncheon today Dave Rose himself said that Davies came forward with the information, he did not get caught. I'll say it again, Davies turned himself in.

If that is true, hopefully it will get quoted by Daily H or SL Trib and spelled out that clearly so that nobody plants a car bomb in her roomies cars or Michelle P's for that matter or blows up the HC office for acting too quickly on unsubstantiated information.
