I hope the Cougars end Kragthorpe's dream of declaring BYU dead. I'm looking forward to watching hoops tonight. ;)

Unfortunately Kragthorpe is right. We went from a great team to just a good team.

I said the same thing earlier but I must ammend it to be from a great team to a very good team. Because I still think that if we get some extra efforts from Anderson, and they don't have to be up to Davies level, we can still beat anyone. I wholeheartily believe that any scoring and at least half the boards that Davies could/would have gotten will be picked up by Rogers/KC. So I think if Anderson can get a couple of blocks maybe a basket or two and most importantly 5 or six defensive rebounds we will most likely win the game.



BTW Rogers to me seems to be a very close clone to Lee Cummard except I think he actually blocks out better than Lee did (not that it always leads to rebounds). If he can become even a shadow of Lee we should be well off.

I agree. Remember BYU beat Utah State without Davies. In rewatching the SDSU game BYU went on some great runs with Davies on the bench in foul trouble and SDSU is a top ten team. I do not believe that we are screwed.

Davies being gone is not what worries me. The psychological blow to the team is what worries me. Now we find out how good we are to the mental challenges and pressures that good teams find ways to deal with.

Against SDSU, Davies presence helped keep some of the defense honest. His length helped bother shots in the key and played an instrumental role in the victory. Although Jimmer is the star and Emery is certainly the #2 guy, Davies role in the middle was certainly a critical piece of the success. An ecstatic victory Saturday vs SDSU has been replaced by an uncomfortable feeling....

Isn't Kragthorpe the name of one of the kids on Spellbound?

Good timing. Maybe Krag could bury the Cougars. They are done.

Maybe a win saturday, MAYBE! And then in the first round of the mwc. BUt I predict an out in the second round of the vegas tourney.
