Very end bit from a long KSL article:

This part was particularly potent for me and represents part of what I'm feeling.

Not the same. BYU had time to replace Harvey. They knew Harvey wouldn't be back. Harvey wasn't suspended mid-season.

That was a different situation. That was during the off season. This would be like unga getting the boot the last week of the regular season right before a big game in an undefeated run to the first bcs game. Don't try to downplay the significance of what just happened.

we did lose Chambers mid-year. Twice.



He was a starter and probably won us that Utah game. At lease Loyd waited until the end of the year.



We did okay without them. Of course 1/11 does not equal 1/5 especially when your bench in football is dozens wide

And Davies was MUCH more important to the bball team than Chambers to the fball team. Losing Davies is akin to the fball team losing the ENTIRE starting o-line!

I don't think that CP is saying that the two different incidents are comparable when it comes to consequences of the team, yes, Davies' unexpected departure has graver consequences, but I believe that CP is saying that the discussion of the HC, between those who support it and those who don't support it a lot less hasn't changed. My attitude hasn't changed on it since way before Unga and I support it very much. There are things in it that I don't like, but over all, I think that it's the right thing. I also realize that some of you out there are probably rolling your eyes ( :roll: ) and thinking that I just don't understand the situation. Sad to sad, I'm doing the same thing about you also, but I also realize that this isn't anything we can do very much about and it's not going to do any good to get worked up about. It's just a bump in the road of life and my road is so full of ruts and ridges that it isn't very noticeable.



We can debate this all day until the cows come home and we aren't going to change anybody's opinion very much about it, but it's still fun discussing it as long as we don't get personal and start doing ad hominem attacks.



To me, it's like discussing if Wolverine can do a smack down on Ironman.

First, Wolverine could never do a smackdown on Ironman. Prove me wrong. ;) The Hulk is an entirely different story.



Second, my biggest concern is the potential distraction by opposing fans and even players. I am confident that Coach Rose and the team will adapt adequately to the disappearance of our starting and effective center. Please don't ask me how they will, though. :roll:



How will Davies (if he stays) handle the next few years wherever he plays ball. This will haunt him for a long time. My second prayer is for him. ;)

Don't you think that the pressure is still there to achieve the #1 seed and now added to the pressure is another pressure? Now they have two pressures with the other being they need to figure how to deal without a valued member of the team? I worry it will not distract from the first pressure but rather they are stacked one on top of the other.
