A tougher BYU team

Didn't SDSU have a bye week this week? (No mid-week game)



On the other hand BYU had to scrap against CSU's wrestling team--no foul calls.



I think that the no-calls are actually helpful for BYU. We are winning without favorable calls and we are getting tougher. This is what good NCAA tourney teams are made of.

Indeed. And not just how to play through no calls, but Jimmer is getting better at handling this element. And the team knows that they need to step up and that they can step up and when they do what a great synergy they become.

And my sense is, that when we stop complaining, even the refs--except a certain ref named Reed--start to feel his pain by the end of the game and will start to make those calls for Jimmer.

Although it would be nice if the refs were consistent from game to game and team to team, it's obvious that BYU gets special treatment, and I don't mean it in a good way either.



BYU has won in spite of the refs, even more so during the second round of games in the MWC. BYU is now a battle hardened team that should be able to weather those storms where the calls don't quite match up with reality. After yesterday's game, I will be very disappointed and surprised if BYU doesn't make it at least to the elite 8 this year. And if they do, it will be because the MWC did them a favor, though it wasn't intended that way, in swallowing their whistle when it came to protecting Jimmer.
