Great read. I can attest, the unlv contingent will be steaming. They hate that BYU gets more press down here a lot of the time than their own team. Also nice to see an objective perspective about BYU that is not tainted by anti-BYU or anti-Mormon sentiment. Not even sure they get that from the salt lake papers.

Too bad UNLV will be in the SDSU half of the bracket. And they were swept by the Aztecs this year. UNLV won't get by both BYU and SDSU this year to win their tourney.

We complain about UNLV hosting the tournament, but I don't think they win it very often. They do seem to make the finals quite a bit though.

I believe UNLV has been in the final every year but one when they've hosted and have won more than half of them.

You never know with Hair Thompson in charge. He can make anything he wants to happen, happen (with the exception of the MTN contract and keeping the Cougs, Yewts, and TCU in the fold). Could he be arrogant enough to sacrifice BYU's possible #1 seed as a final put down of the program? The truth may be in the number of times Jimmer gets to the foul line. Season average could mean neutrality. Conference average could display some MWC bias. Below MWC average could look very suspicious for Mr. Hair and his conference powers, especially if it is below average for three consecutive nights at the MWC tournament....
