BYU's win over SDSU earned them the #1 spot in the current RPI rating.

Way to go Cougars.

SOS is 15, but what I didn't like was the projected at year end of 30. Let's quit the season right now as it looks like playing New Mexico and Wyoming will actually hurt our situation. Only slightly kidding because we can't.

"projected??" What, is this guy a swami or something? It's like predicting global warming in 2025--complete baloney.

Actually, SOS isn't going to change much between now and the end of the season, so the prediction should be prophetic compared to global warming which is a bunch of baloney.

I don't know if any of you saw Jay BILE on the ESPN college basketball show this morning, but he was saying the RPI was crap and shouldn't be used in determining how good a team is. I wonder why..... it couldn't be because BYU's RPI is upsetting the establishment!!

He can say that all he wants, the selection committee takes RPI into account.

Wouldn't this be like having an analyst say that BCS rankings are bogus if BYU/TCU/uu/BSU was in the top 2?

Sounds like a double standard.

That's his way of beginning the conversation that will end with saying how many mediocre teams from the ACC and SEC and big 10 should go to the dance, since the RPI is meaningless and cough cough we all know the cough cough big power (BSC) teams are so much cough cough more deserving cough cough!!!
