BYU Beats SDSU if...

...They put the pedal to the metal. The biggest factor in the win in Provo was that they were a better conditioned team. The altitude factored into the fatigue, but it was apparent that BYU has more endurance. Gay hit the wall after their last game and had to take 3 days off this week. BYU needs to push the ball upcourt with every opportunity to wear down the spaztecs.

I had wondered in one of the pluthra of articles this week where one of the SDSU players said they were going to put fresh guys on Jimmer throughout the game and wear him out. Go for it dudes. Those guys have to play offense too and if they can't, then stopping Jimmer does not equal beating the Cougars and that should be obvious even to the basic of BB layman as there have been several times BYU has had several players in double digits.

Leonard is a beast. One reason we won in Provo is because they didn't go to him more, we couldn't stop him. We CAN stop Gay. '



Also, Rogers and Abouo are currently in the middle of a fantastic streak adding quality minutes, points and defense off the bench. Where were they last time around? Abouo was 0-5 from the field with 2 FTs and Rogers only played 4 minutes. If SDSU isn't watchin enough recent video, they might think they can leave these guys open and we can have Jimmer Kick-out the ball all night long.



If we can 4-5 Cougars in double digits like our last few games, I don't see us losing.

We win if we can keep White in check and limit Leonard.



P.S. Jimmer takes care of the ball. He had 7 turnovers against CSU. It will be hard to overcome so many turnovers against SDSU.

Jimmer shoots 45% or more; Abouo slows down Leonard; BYU keeps the offensive rebounds in check; Davies stays out of foul trouble.

BYU shows up to the gambling center.



I don't mean show up as in play their game. I mean show up as in literally just show up, stretch, and play.



BYUs going to earn the nations love tomorrow.

Abouo keeps Leonard off the offensive glass; Jax keeps DJ in check; Davies stays out of foul trouble; Refs call it fair. That's it. Game over. We will get point production; Jimmer will get his points; and Our Sr Guards lead us to victory.



Other variables that would help: KC doesnt play scared like last game and takes it to the rim and dishes; Rogers gets after boards; Noah plays strong helpside defense; Jimmer doesnt have 7 t.o.'s nor try to take over the game himself (ala KSU last year)--unless he's shooting 45-50% again. :-)

turnovers will be the biggest part of the game. If BYU has less turnovers, they win.

No question rebounds will decide the outcome of this game. Sdsu is a poor shooting team and lives on the o glass. Limit them to less than ten o boards, we win. More than that and it's a toss up.

I'm not seeing much correlation between turnovers and BYU wins/losses vs SDSU. I'm also not seeing a history of huge turnover games.
