If you had to choose...

to lose tomorrow or to make it to the LV Invitational finals and lose then, which would you choose?



My opinion is assuming we win out after a loss tomorrow, including a win over SUDS in the Tourney Final, then we would be looked at more favorably by the NCAA committee and would get a higher seed than them. Whereas if we win tomorrow but lost the final they would be forced to put SUDS in a higher seed than us and we probably drop to a 3 or 4 maybe even a 5. Here's to winning out, tomorrow AND again vs. SUDS in the Conf. Final!

If win win @ SDSU tomorrow and win out until conf. finals, I don't see this team (which would only have 3 losses all season including the conf finals loss) dropping below a 4, probably not even a 3. This game tomorrow is on national TV, primetime saturday afternoon hoops time and people will be watching closely. If we win this game on this stage, we could lose the conference tourney to SDSU and still claim a 3 seed (I still think a 2 is not out of the question with that resume). Not sure how a team with 3 losses, RPI and all in the top 10-15 drops to a 5.

The selection committee doesn't really seem to ding teams for what happens in the conf tourneys as much as the regular season.

I totally agree. As long as we don't lose is the first round of the conf tourney, I don't think what happens there has any effect on our seeding.



Giving SDSU the season sweep will all but lock up a 2 seed.

I agree - I want our best team in school history to at least be Conference chams!

LOL, there's no way we drop to a 4 or 5. National attention is just about everything and if we win on CBS in the best remaining game of the regular season, trust me, it will be remembered more than a conf. finals game on the mtn. BYU has hype and it seems that just because ESPN says one of these teams "is fighting for a #1 seed" that makes it so. Amazing how much power their words yield.

I agree - I want our best team in school history to at least be Conference chams!

Agreed about not getting dinged as much for the conference tourney. We need to win tomorrow.

I personally feel it would be better to lose a close game tomorrow and win out after that. While I don't have evidence or feel like looking up some stats it just seems like the selection committee loves hot teams

Easy. Win tomorrow and lock up a 2 seed. Same thing happened to Utah. Majerus haad them losing the 2nd round of th conf tourney so they could rest for the Big Dance.

I'd rather lose tomorrow and win the MWC tourney - since I'll be there in person, and it's RIGHT BEFORE selection Sunday. I think that as long as we only have one more loss - either tomorrow or MWC tourney championship game - then we'll have a good shot at a 2 seed, or 3 at worst.

IMO: If we only lose once more to SDSU (regardless of whether it be tomorrow or in the tourney) there is no way we drop to lower than a 3 seed.

If we lose tomorrow and win out (including beating SDSU in the Mtn tourny) then we are still a 2 seed.

Win out and we are in contention for a 1 seed.
