We shouldn't complain about the high foul count

I've seen a lot of comments about the high foul count in the CSU game, blaming the referees for calling the game too tight. I think the refs were right when they said to stop fouling, and they would stop calling the fouls. Even with the high foul count, there were a lot of no-calls. I didn't see a lot of questionable calls. Most of the complaints were for no-calls - so the foul count could have been much higher.



One of the biggest boos came when Emery came off a screen and was grabbed by a CSU player who almost pulled off his jersey - no call. Let's not get carried away complaining about too many fouls called. Maybe the complaint should be that there were too many fouls, period.

A game called like that on Saturday benefits BYU.

As for jackson getting held--is that the same one that Jax actually got totally stiff-armed by the guy guarding Jimmer? that was a hilarious no-call. its almost as if the refs believe that just bc Jimmer creates alot of contact when he drives--and expects to get a call--that all of BYU players are floppers and whiners? What a joke.

AND, Nigon needed to be a bye-gone--as in ejected or a flagrant foul when he undercut Jax at full strength and speed to the basket. I dont care if he went over and helped him up, those are very dangersous and Nigon had no business body-checking him in full flight.

Seems simple to me, if there's a foul, call a foul. Ideally, the players should adapt.



The problem with last night's game is the refs were just a tad bit too inconsistent. They'd call a foul and a moment later turn a blind eye to another foul. If you're a player you think, "Well, I got away with that last one, might as well keep at it."



Jimmer needs to keep his mouth shut though. This is the third game in a row where he's gotten quite vocal with the refs. I understand he's getting hammered, but he needs to go over to Rose and let Rose handle it. Jimmer is starting to appear whinny.

I know what play your talking about with Emery getting hit while in the air, but I don't think Nigon(t) (whatver his name is) did it on purpose. He was just trying to get back and make a play and bumped emery a little. If that gets someone ejected, hard to play defense and have 5 guys on the floor at the end of the game. Bad foul because he was too late anyway, but not a flagarant foul. Just a stupid foul.



And Jimmer needs to keep his mouth shut till he lets out his roar. No more getting in the refs ear. Rarely does it help you out. But I can understand his frustration.
