Coach Miles on the Emmer

BYU basketball: Even on an off-night, Jimmer Fredette's presence painful to opponents

"Jackson Emery made three unbelievable defensive plays that kept us at bay," said Miles. "We turned the ball over seven times on our last 20 possessions. I thought those three defensive plays were huge. His defensive instinct is as good as I've seen. If he beat out (Danny) Ainge (BYU's all-time steals leader), he's pretty good."

When I got home last night, the game was already into the second half and they showed a video of Coach Miles coming out of the stands with a piece of licorice that some BYU fan had given him and the glorious and highly talented :roll: mtn announcers were stating that Miles was well liked in Cougar land.

I actually love Coach Miles. For serious.

Miles is great. CSU is in good hands and they'll be a force to recon with in the near future. They ought to give SDSU a run for their money.

My only two complaints about coach Miles are 1) his use of the F-bomb seems a little forced and excessive -- like a comedian throwing it in to his routine to get a cheap laugh from the crowd, Miles seems to swear all the time to show that he's tough; and 2) he tucks his polo shirts into his sweat pants. I'm no fashion guru, but I think that's a big no-no if you're going to have cameras on you (even if they are only the blurry Mtn cameras).

Jimmer and several of the players tuck their warmup jackets into their shorts when they come out for pregame shootarounds.

It's not the same thing at all. Warmups are not polos. Polos should never be tucked into sweats . . . Unless, as was stated above, it's the Jimmer and he can do whatever he wants.

When I went to the BYU-Utah game a few years ago, the MUSS was mocking the BYU band's uniforms for how gay they were with that little plume on the hat. Then said nothing when their band came out with the exact same uniform with a little plume on the hat.
