I pity CSU

They played a great game against a greater team.



But...I feel sad for them...because...





They are in an SOB conference.



HOW MUCH EVIDENCE HAVE WE PROVIDED AGAINST THE MWC/MTN????



1-TV ANALyst complains over the Mtn that CSU needs to put an elbow into Jimmer, and that teams in conference are playing way too soft and need to knock him around.

2-Jimmers' jaw appeared to dislocate and gets no call...in fact, he had 3 PFs, 2 charges, and 1 shot to the nuts.

3-The MTN/MWC are biotches. Against TCU they buffed up frogs the whole night, and tonight it was all about the rams.



When BYU wins (steals away) the MWC trophies I think BYU should do the honorable thing and refuse them.



Rants never get tiring and old regarding this matter because the conference administrations 'flagrant' behavior is becoming so obvious it's ruining the clarity of the mtn on my HD Vizio. We need an Independence day online party.

Good call, man. I think that this game sets a new standard for the number of rough blows delivered to BYU that went uncalled. Jimmer actually drew a legit charge, went down, and got no call. Yet, he gets rammed by a Ram with feet not quite set, or too close to call it set, and Jimmer gets whistled for a bogus charge. Twice. We seemed to also be on the short end of the stick when our guys made blocks, called as fouls, while CSU got many blocks called as clean when there clearly was contact.



The conference knew that CSU needed a win in Provo to have a chance to reach the NCAA's. They also knew that CSU's plan was to play rough and hope for lenience from the refs. I also noticed that jerk on The Mountain call for elbows to Jimmer's ribs. He said that as though that type of play was a legitimate strategy for this type of game situation, and that fouls don't count when perpetrated on a team that is dominating the conference. The woman on the broadcast team did show some sympathy for BYU, and especially for Jimmer, in taking more than their share of blows. She specifically mentioned the clout that Jimmer took to the jaw. However, she did not go so far as to say that something was terribly wrong with the officiating. Perhaps that would be hazardous to her job tenure with the network?



This is definitely an SOB conference, and it deserves to rot in hell. I think that we would have won this one by at least 25 points if it had been called objectively.



Whether or not we can pull out the win at San Diego while taking blows to the face and ribs, there may be a silver lining in all of this: Perhaps the uncalled rough play will toughen us up for the NCAA tourney. I expect to get far, far more fair and equitable officiating once we're in the NCAA's, especially with Jimmer's nation wide popularity. I don't think we'll see the NCAA's turn into a free-for-all for busting Jimmer in the chops.

The MWC refs are pathetic. My only hope is that since the game is on national television instead of a network where nobody can see their collusion against the Cougars, they will have to call an even game. We'll see though.

The reffing in this game was actually worse than the Wyoming game! I can't think of 2 consecutive possessions where there wasn't a whistle. No wonder the MWC gets no respect.

They have to be willing to respect themselves, not in the 'love your pets too much like Hair Thompson' way, but just the self-esteem way.

Hard to say they were against BYU in this one where we shoot 43 of them. They gav CSU 26 FTs and BYU 43. That, is shocking. If we don't have those FT's I don't see us winning this game. CSU outshot us.



The craziest thing was what they called them on. They did miss a few on Jimmer, but I don't think any of Abouo's four fouls were legit. And Anderson was called for two on some complete non-contact plays. Too be fair i never looked at all the fouls called on CSU, but I'm sure they had to be real frustrated with what they would call home-cooking.



But 69 fouls in one game? How many games this year have there been when a team doesn't even score that many points in a game!?

Yeah, but you can't look at trips to the free throw line and claim parity or disparity.



We got fouled a lot more than they called. The reason we didn't foul as much, is that they challenged every drive down the lane with a foul, whether or not it was called. The only "challenge" we have on inside presence is a mental one (see what I did there.) Guys were grabbing Orebs and driving to the lane untouched all game long. Or getting a pass 5 feet away from the basket and lobbing it in. We were more than pathetic in interior defense. IF anyone but that Nigon guy could shoot from the arc for CSU, we would have been in big trouble.
