How do you "LIKE" this Facebook event?

Wearing missionary gear has become somewhat of a tradition for our student section when we play BYU. Four years ago we had roughly two students do it, then 5 the following year, then 15 the next year, then around 50 last year.



This year we want to go BIG. We want 2,500 strong! We want our student section united in spirit and dress. We want to make a statement.



Here's all you have to do: pick up some black pants, a SHORT-SLEEVE white button-up shirt, and a BLACK tie. Bicycle helmets are optional, but encouraged and they do a nice job of completing the look. If you can't tie a tie....get a clip-on. You can buy this stuff at Wal-Mart for like $12.



Last year Seth Davis, a sports writer for Sports Illustrated, called us CLASSLESS for dressing up as Mormon Missionaries....well Seth, you might not want to watch this year's game.



Please invite all of your pro-SDSU friends to this event and remind everyone that you know is going to the game to dress up.

When SDSU came to Provo BYU students missed out on an opportunity. They could have acted the part of SDSU students at their football games and just not shown up at all.



I hope Jimmer drops 50 on them and this game is over with 10 minutes left.

They are just fueling the fire..........

If Rose wanted to he'd have all the ammo in the world to motivate the team before Saturday's game.

Thank you SDSU for focusing The Jimmer. Please don't cry or try to hurt him when he drops 40 on you.

I say we supply them all with Books of Mormon to "complete the look." Heck, Miles from CSU looked like he was heading to a baptism at their home game vs BYU. The stone cut from the mtn without hands is rolling forth.

That would be a great idea. Get the missionaries to hand on copies of the Book of Mormon to all the "missionaries" as they head inside for the game.

I read an article from the SDSU student newspaper about the attempt to get inside Jimmer's head by "poking" his girlfriend on Facebook. Their premise was filled with sexual innuendo. It was entitled, “Poke Jimmer Fredette’s girlfriend because Jimmer can’t poke her for himself.” Other students went on to make T-shirts saying "I poked Jimmer's girlfriend."



The article went on to say "The administration at SDSU has said they won’t allow the shirts into the game Saturday at Viejas Arena. Head basketball coach Steve Fisher has even sent a message to the students, encouraging them to keep it classy.



'Part of his message read, “It is important to remember that when you are in the student section, you represent something greater than yourself … We always encourage ‘The Show’ to continue to be the most creative, funny, and loudest student section in America, but we cannot cross the line into topics that are out of bounds and distasteful, particularly making fun of one’s religion.”



Gotta respect Steve Fisher as a person, as a coach, and for taking a stand, but isn't it a little late about the "making fun of one's religion" part? That's WHAT they do from what I have seen. I think it's tasteless, but otherwise, not too big a deal.



What I do object to however, is the innuendo toward his girlfriend. That goes way beyond tasteless to :utard: type classlessness, and has no place in a sports rivalry.



Then, the originator blamed the victim by saying that she could have kept it from happening by disabling her Facebook page as soon as she started to date Jimmer. Like a teenage girl with actual class is going to have a clue what the classless fans of a place like SDSU are going to come up with, just because she starts dating somebody? :skeptic: :roll: ???



I hope this fires Jimmer up like nothing before. He might drop 70 on them. Somebody ought to buy one of the t-shirts and hang it on our locker room wall. :evil:

Hmmm... That might be a good thing. The Lord thrives on controversy. Somethng like that would have people all over America, members and non, talking about it. Some might even decide to read the book to see what is so objectionable to "the show" about this book. AND, it might be really fun to see a bunch of them being escorted out of the game, and receiving discipline for breaking THEIR honor code! :)

I don't know. I love the Book of Mormon too much to hear about it getting ripped to shreds by some idiots.



The Lord said, "My sheep know my voice". If people will actually want to read the book because of some students ripping it apart. Then they will want to read it, when they hear/see the students dressed as missionaries.



It getting ripped, won't change anybody's opinion about reading it.
