If we'd won in the Pit...

If we hadn't choked in the Pit, would would we be ranked right now? #1? #2? We would have gotten some serious mileage out of that SDSU win, would have been top 4 before this week's games...and MIGHT be #1 right now, IMO at worst #2. Stupid lobos. Why can't you guys chose the :utard: game to figure out how to hit outside shots?

We'd be in the Top 5 for sure, but I don't think number 1 or 2.

I think we're right where we should be. I don't think we want to carry the weight of being the #1 or #2 team in the country in to the tourney.



Being in the top 10 and fighting for a 2 seed is incredible for this team. And a 1 or 2 seed is all relative. It means you'll get an easy 1st round and solid opponent in the 2nd round.



Beyond that, it's all top 20 teams left so every game is a battle.



I'd be thrilled with a 2 seed, and almost prefer it because it doesn't carry the expectation of making the Final Four. I'd hate to see escalating expectations spoil a great Sweet 16 run.

We'd be #3.

I still don't think we want to go into SDSU as a higher rank. On one hand, if we go in there and lose it's cause we were supposed to, while if we win, it's an upset.



On the other hand, I don't think anyone looks at it quite that way and a loss will still drop us in the polls since most east-coast voters don't see many differences between SDSU and BYU.

I'm still not sold on SDSU handling the pressure of late game at home against us.



If we can rebound - like we did at home - then the Aztecs can't just throw the ball at the rim and go and get it. They'll actually have to make shots and the only one I have any confidence in being able to do that is Gay and he's going to be hounded by Jackson.



It's going to be a real tough game to win, but I think we can do it.

If we had won at the pitt, BYU would be #2, had duke lost, we would be #1.



Had Jimmer not been in a % slump, OR if our games been on ESPN BYU would be higher right now, OUR ONLY EXPOSURE is Jimmer right now, hence why this weekend is HUGE LIVE on CBS, lots of replays everywhere, I can see us jumpping 2-4 spots if we sweep this week, and Jimmer goes for 40





Win or lose, if Jimmer has a awesome game, we stand still, or move up, but if Jimmer has a bad game, goes 6-18 or something, then we could drop.
