I like it since it's less travel, better game. But I wanted TCU to be hung out to dry with just 9 games...and Patterson is a wiener, of course this'll be good odds for BYU.





I'll adjust my opinion of TCU this saturday, but I'm sure fandom will continue to play against TCU. Look for my poster: Jimmer Fish.

Did BYU pull a Nevada or Patterson on Louisiana Tech?



I very much doubt it, but any inside thoughts on that game or the future with them?

TCU announced their full non-conf schedule moments ago, and it has no LTech game. They play Baylor, SMU, BYU, L-Monroe and Portland State, plus 7 MWC games.



They lost 11 of 22 starters, which includes QB, a corner and safety and a WR, plus best LB (Carder) and some O-line guys. They are a solid program, but they lost a lot. Good year to catch them.

So according to that article, BYU will play TCU Oct 28th and then Utah state Oct 30th.

I didn't realize it wasn't necessarily official until now. I was looking at this site this morning and it looks like they had it down already.

One difference on that though is that they had LaTech in there still so I thought they had changed their mind and were going to play 13 games. Man this website is on top of it.

Oh one more edit. If you go to the site go to the left hand column and see where they have BYU listed. I think you will like it.

Interesting that the article states that ESPN will show the UCF and Utah State games, but no mention of the Utah game. I would have thought that would have been the first game they would choose. Maybe they really only want BYU to fill in Thurs/Friday games, and won't show many Saturday games, outside of neutral-site games that they broker.

Any chance I can score a seat in the failed Super Bowl seating section? Maybe I could walk away with $5,000 and free tickets to the future BYU BCS games.

My favorite part was this:

TCU coach Gary Patterson once flatly said that he would not consider playing BYU after news that the Cougars were leaving the Mountain West Conference leaked out last August.

I'm disappointed if we dropped the Louisiana Tech game. 13 games > 12 games. I don't care if we play Weber State for the 13th game. I just can't get enough BYU football.

The Utah game is in Provo, so its a guaranteed ESPN game.

And BTW I will really love to hear how Fatterson spins his comments about BYU last summer!! I think this thread should be the one with the title "show me the money" for TCU.

Personally, I'm grateful for dropping LaTech and getting another bye week, so the team can have extra time to heal and prepare for the Vandals.

Although I would like to see BYU play daily - ok except Sunday - all year - I really would - each game is one more chance to pile up injuries - especially when over matched opponents get frustrated and take cheap shots.



Those who will be suicidal if Heaps doesn't break all of Detmer's records would prefer the 14 games including a bowl game to rack up yards. Too bad we can't add a kickoff classic and get 15 games like Sark did - well we played 1 too many that year as 14-0 would have been better than 14-1.



Heaps was the best True Freshman BYU QB ever - Detmer, Young, McMahon, etc. were on the bench their entire True Freshman years. Sark was in JC. Few true freshman QBs have ever even seen the field at BYU. So let's all get over that and focus on BYU winning games whether we do it running, throwing, or in a more balanced way than Detmer's teams.



Let's try to keep Heaps healthy and his supporting cast healthy and win games.

I meant BYU playing L Tech. Wondering if it'll still happen in the future. TH has to keep a 3-5 year mental image, and if anyone wants to play he's got to ask them for more games later on too...that's probably policy by now.
