Bilas Leaves Jimmer off "Most Respected" List

Good ole' Jay Bilas. His list of the most respected players in the nation includes two Duke players (Singler and Nolan Smith), Kawhi Leonard, Arizona's Derrick Williams, and 15 other players, but no mention of The Jimmer. Lame.

I guess to be fair, he's specifying that his "respected" list is not about the "best" players, but rather the players who put team first, work hard, are humble, and are thought highly of by fans and opponents alike. Sullinger, and Kemba Walker are left off the list as well, but Bilas is such a Duke homer. Double Lame.

By the very definition it is Jimmer!!!

I once entered a dessert contest with my kick butt homemade ice cream and I didn't even get honorable mention. When questioned why, the judges said that it was so good that it made the other desserts pale in comparison and they didn't want to discourage others from entering the contest.

Bilas has a motive here and it's to promote Nolan Smith for national POY, it's filthy politics plain and simple. Here's the lawyer in Jay and it's bad form as a journalist.



This won't be the last time we see media guys with agendas against Jimmer. Thankfully we're only a couple weeks away from having it wrapped up and nobody seems to be capable of doing enough to grab those POY awards away.



He knows full well that Jimmer is one of the most respected and feared players in the country, but that by excluding him, maybe one of his dukies will get a few more votes.



His biggest mistake then is putting 2 Dukies on the list to potentially split votes.



(personally, I don't think anyone but Kstate/Michigan State have underachieved more than Duke this year and that none of those guys have delivered the way they were expected)

didnt read the whole article, but with ommissions of walker and sullinger, it makes me wonder if its not as much a slam, but "look at these guys, they're good too" kind of article. And yes, always squa-dukie.

sure, omit all of true competition, and leave nolan smith in the article... apparrently the 3 best players are all unworthy of respect.

I have had stuff like that happen to the YM that I was over. One youth conference they had a whole bunch of obstacle courses, strategy activities, and group activities. We had the top score in EVERY event but they only allowed us to be rewarded for one activity.

Welp, I've never really had an opinion about Bilas one way or the other, but he certainly looks like a tool now.

Respected by fans? ...... BYU's games are sold out both home and away. I don't think the fans are coming to see James Anderson and the crew. Or even the #7 ranked team. They want to see this once in a lifetime collegiate player, Jimmer. Didn't SDSU fans chant "We want Jimmer"? Agendas and biases. Maybe now since he is not respected, the opponents will leave him alone to go one-on-one... NOT!

Speaking of most repected, Bilas is less respected than good ole "Bagdad Bob", that insisted that the IRAQI army was going to smash the USA and that they had the US right where they wanted them. Maybe his new name should be "Bagdad Bilas"......
