In 12 games from Dec. 4th through Jan. 18th, Noah Hartsock scored 120 points on 58% shooting... 63% from three!

In the 8 games since then, he has scored 34 points on 32% shooting... 16% from three.

So... is he hurt? He was playing exceptionally well. What happened? And can it turn back around by March Madness?

I just think he started practicing 3's on his own and because he made a couple in games that he has decided that is where he fits in on offense. Let's face it, the kid can't go up strong with the ball, so when around the basket he is more likely to get swatted than anything. He simply has limited ability on offense. I am happy with him shooting and making 15 foot baseline jumpers all night, however. Every team needs a big guy who can make those.

IMO, quite the opposite. He has been avoiding injury by hanging out around the 3 point line. I like alot of things about Noah, but he looks soft. His legs have no definition and dont seem to have much UP. I attribute a similar condition to KC, who understandably is young and still has a freshman body--and in truth, really isnt all that bad of strength for a freshman. BUt without that strength and conditioning, Noah has become ineffective. Conversely, consider Charles. His strength and conditioning has proven vital as teams have been pounding us--as teams will in the NCAA as well.

so let me get this straight...football players are slow, and our b-ball white boys can't jump?

It's a conspiracy!

Noah gets up pretty well. He gets 1 or 2 blocks a game, sometimes more.

Offensively, he just needs to keep taking open shots, and eventually they'll go in. He probably does need to get back to the 15 footers instead of the 20 footers though.

This is a good question, and it may explain his drop in production.

I don't think most people realize exactly how GREAT of 3 pt shooter Noah was until just 2 wees ago.

I think a better question is where has Mars been? It's been nearly two months since I've seen a post from him.

I think it's mental mostly. For whatever reason the fire seems to be out. Maybe the insurgence of Davies as the go to post man has dampened his spirits a bit. Maybe he's tired. Either way, I hope he shacks it off come Feb. 26.

More often as help defense from the backside, but yes, his blocked shots help tremendously.

I'd like to see Rogers or KC inserted at the 4 more often so Noah can see more time at the 5 when needed. Our team really can't afford for both Davies and Noah being in foul trouble against the likes of a SDSU.

If he's injured, we need to get him healthy before the tourney. If he's not, he needs to watch the highlights from last year's UNLV game at the MC:

THIS is the Noah we need, especially since we've only got two other big men. Get in there, bang, get putbacks, clog the defense's gears in the middle.

This video reminds me how loyd would have likely been a nice addition to our team this year. I wonder if he is just kicking himself for not sticking with it as BYU soars to new heights without him.

He doesn't seem cut out to be a role player and a team player. He was nuts to leave. That was clear even when he left and he was nuts to leave whether Jimmer stayed or not. Now he is a little fish in a little pond and not really looking all that impessive there. He would have been a major contributor at times this year at BYU - especially when Jackson Emery was injured early or in a slump recently or when Jimmer gets tired or for some 3 guard looks.

Truth. Especially with Anderson limited by pain after his shoulder injury.

Noah's 15 ft jumper in my opinion is vital to our team as it adds more aspects to our scoring ability and opens up the floor just a little more. Noah is money from 15 ft and I wish we had some set plays to get him some more of those looks. Run him baseline to baseline and let him shoot it when he's open.

Also, we need better perimeter defense when teams like New Mexico start dropping 3's in Noah's eye. Guys like KC and Abouo on the floor at the 3 and 4 at the same time would have helped in humble opinion. How 'bout that?? I just quoted myself

Interesting to hear this after the SDSU game...Franchuk reported it in this article

Rose ran off a laundry list of health issues.

"Kyle Collinsworth was not able to play as much as we wanted him to because he had the flu during the week. So James Anderson got poked in the eye and Stephen Rogers kind of hurt his ankle (both second half) so we were kind of down a few guys."

Starting power forward Noah Hartsock suffered a foot sprain against Colorado State last Wednesday, but still logged 15 points in 39 minutes, including 3-of-4 accuracy from 3-point range.

Stomach illness swamped the team earlier this week, Rose added.

"Yeah, Thursday, after the Colorado State game (the previous night), we were down to very few guys in practice. We did some shots and free throws and went over some game plan things. Our doctors did a terrific job of getting guys back. I don't know if it was food poisoning or some kind of a flu bug, but hopefully we can get that behind us and move on to the big challenge of next week."

Noah played 39 min? And on a foot sprain? All those calling him marshmellow in the last two weeks need to start eating crow.

Never called him a Marshmellow but I'll gladly eat some

I was going to suggest it ironic that Hartsock had an awesome, AMAZING game against SDSU, but hurt his foot and missed practice today.

Is he back for good? Hope so.
