Another UT coach bites the dust

DB coach decides to take double the money from the Titans. Can't blame him. Too bad he didn't leave right in the middle of spring practice though, or maybe during August two a days.

Looks like he doubles his money & works for a personal friend. A good hit!! Bad for Texas who is left in a lurch - but - good opportunity for Jerry Gray.

How many coaches have they lost? How many are regarded as big losses?

Losing a DB coach is really not a huge deal. But losing both coordinators COULD be. Lets not forget that we lost both coordinators during or after 2010 as well. The DC move turned out to be just fine. I think the OC move will as well. The difference is that Texas did not want to lose their DC, but did, so that was a big loss. The OC had been with Mack brown for YEARS, so their offense will obviously change just like ours will. Safe to say the DC change hurt them, unsure on the OC. safe to say the DC change helped us, unsure on the OC. But I suspect both teams and their fans are happy about the OC changes.



At the end of the day, Texas still has many great players and if that QB gets it together, they will be really REALLY good. If he doesn't, they will struggle. If the Beck years taught us anything it is that bad QB play can hurt a D and a team, but solid QB play can really help it.
