It's a good thing that yewtah sucks so bad...

...had we been playing a half-way decent team today, we'd have been in a ton of trouble. We'd lose 3 of our last 5 games if we play like that.



Davies looked completely out of sorts, Hartsock and Collinsworth were non-factors, even Jimmer missed a bunch of shots he normally makes. Thank goodness for Emery and Charles - kept us in the game.



p.s. still feels good to know that the :utard: played great, we played below average, and still won by 13.

Show me a team that doesn't have off nights. When we start losing games we shouldn't on a more regular basis, then I will join you in your worries. We have had numerous tough or off games and still managed to win. BYU is a good team and finds ways to work through challenges.

We said the same thing after the Wyoming game and looked what happened when we played AF. AF is a halfway decent team with a winning record and a nearly .500 conference record who was playing at home. We killed them to the tune of their worst loss ever.



Don't overreact to these games against bad teams.

My "worries"? Who said I was worried? All I said was it was a good thing that :utard: sucks so bad that we can have an off night and still win by 13. Sheesh.

Yes Utah is barely a .500 team, but they played us close in both games. Blame it on the rivalry, familiarity, or perhaps they just match up well against us, but Utah has weapons.



Seven foot Foster monster did a wonderful job on Davies who started 0/5 for the field...(when's the last time he did THAT?) and that JC transfer player is quite the scorer.



You also have to credit Utah defense for completely frustrating Jimmer in the first half, and the you can blame Boylen for going away from it in the second.

Utah is not "barely a .500 team." They're 10-15 and 3-8 in conference. They're a bad team. They do have the ability to create some matchup problems an Foster really changes the way Jimmer can shoot when he gets close to the hoop.

More to the point, according to Wrubell (I wasn't at the game), Jimmer got absolutely mugged the entire game, and the officials just let it happen with no fouls called. Had the officials called an honest game, BYU probably wins by 25 again, and Jimmer gets 35 points. I wouldn't call this an off game; Obouo had a great game, as did Emery. Pretty bad though when BYU gets homered in their own gym.



And what is this ref doing telling Rose to take Jimmer out of the game? Rose should have stood up and said, "No, we need to take you out of the game, you're killing us, blow your dang whistle."
