Does anyone else think that Jimmer will get screwed out of the NPOY?



Personally, I don't think he'll end up with it - will they REALLY give it to a player from outside of the "BCS Conferences"? Just as Walker starts to fade, Sullinger strengthens and Nolan Smith explodes onto the NPOY scene. The cynic in my can totally see either Sullinger or Smith getting the award because, as they will say, "they did it against tougher competition", even though everyone and their dog knows that The Jimmer is the best player in bball.



And you know what...maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing for The Jimmer to NOT win NPOY - as he seems to be highly motivated by external factors. Imagine if, say, Walker won the award, and BYU met UCONN in the sweet 16...Jimmer might go off for 60.



Give me an Elite Eight or Final Four run over NPOY anyday...

First define NPOY. Which one? The Associated Press'? The Wooden Award? The Naismith Award? The Sporting News? There are multiple NPOYs. I find it highly unlikely that Jimmer won't win at least one of them.

They don't announce the POY until the week of the final 4 if I remember correctly.

You might be right, but when do they VOTE for the award? I can't imagine they wait until late in the tourney to vote.

IMO, the Naismith or Wooden would be the one to win.

So when the talking heads on ESPN talk about the NPOY award, are they referring to one of these?
