BYU Woman B-baller has Hodgkin's Lymphoma

BYU basketball: Alexis Kaufusi diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma

BYU sophomore forward Alexis Kaufusi has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and will not compete for the women's basketball team the remainder of the season.



She's played in a total of 20 games this year averaging 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds. Kaufusi is undergoing additional testing to determine the best course of treatment.

Sadly, real life is still happening at BYU in spite of what is happening with the men's b-ball success. Happily, like the article stated, the disease is very treatable.



The best to her and hers.

She will do great in her treatment and her support system is huge.



That's one talented family and it's starting to look like both Kaufusi boys are going to be forces to deal with at the college level.



Bronson is a legit 6'8" and possibly the best overall athlete in the last 20 years of Utah state history(I really dont' think anyone can make a good enough argument to convince me that isn't the case... even in spite of injuries) and his family has stated that he's headed to the O-line after his mission. We're talking about a potential Jonathon Ogden/Orlando Pace type if he can put the right weight on. (Braden Brown did it and he's not 1/2 the athlete of the Kaufusis)



Corbin has turned out to be quite the late bloomer. After sitting out his sr year of football due to injury, he's sprouted to a 6'8" (looks to me like he's 6'9" now) and has been tearing it up recently in high school hoops. He might be a real darkhorse to be a serious contributor after his mission (if he keeps growing, he might potentially be a nice backup big for BYU hoops too)



"foos" as her hoops teammates call her will bounce back from this big time and we'll see her back on the court.
