Yeah, that was an interesting article. Bagging on Jimmer brings out his best.

Interesting article, awful comment section. Apparently we chased Michael Lloyd out of Provo with pitchforks because he's black.

Greg Wrubell's recap of that drive was one of his classics as he spoke of Jimmer scowling at Tre'Von. It was fun when he interviewed JF after the game expecting that Jimmer had made that drive because of Willis's pre-game comments and was surprised when JF denied knowing this time what Willis had said.

Man I lost my taste for reading comments to articles a few years ago. I'd have to say that article comments seems to attract the highest number oftrolls and idiots known to man. It is a very rare exception that I would view any such comments in a public forum just for the type of issue you note.

I liked the article. The comment section is what it is. The majority of those who take the time to post (just like on the Desnews comment section they removed) have strong opinions one way or the other. No moderate UNLV fan posted a comment. I especially loved the guy who was flaunting their NCAA tourney cred... how many of those wins were they forced to vacate by the NCAA for rule violations? Doesn't seem intelligent to be chest beating over wins that according the NCAA never occured and were bought.

Apparently its what we did to our minority football coaches, as well (according to some posters on our own site, what a joke!) :sulk:

He took it to the hole because Tre was defending him and it was a last dagger in the heart and has ended any hope UNLV and Tre ever had of "stopping" Jimmer. Like the color commentator stated in the Texas tourny.

I don't remember exactly but to the effect of "It must be tough when you know the other guy can beat you and score whenever he wants. And it must be even tougher when you know he knows you know it".

Jimmer may not have known about Tre'von's comment before the game, but he knows Willis is a trash talker, and Jimmer has played against him a few times. Jimmer did it because he could do it, and he wanted Willis to know he could do it.



BTW, Ed Graney in the RJ in Las Vegas really roasted Willis for his stupidity in trashing Jimmer when Jimmer is clearly the better player. One writer also wanted to know why a bunch of white guys beat the tar out of their black guys, and why BYU's white guys can dunk the ball better than UNLV's black guys. I though it was pretty bold of that writer to say what he did. Jimmer took it to the hole because he's Jimmer and he can. Any additional analysis is a waste of typing. It's like analyzing why Chuck Norris used a roundhouse kick.
